Yesterday I was dragging a fly by control point and my mouse pointer came off the point.  My terrain suddenly disappeared from view.  I put my pointer in the scene view and hit F and got the terrain to reappear, but it is in the distance and the perspective is screwed up.  I double clicked Human Height, but when it zoomed in I got a bizarre image.  My W,S,A, and D functions are not working properly and notice the X,Y,Z perspective is not appearing in the upper right hand corner of my scene view.  Anyone have any idea how I can get this back in order?

You need to go back to perspective (3D) view

Holy crap.  SO freaking easy.  Big thanks to you both.  Don't know how that happened, but whatever.  I know the routine if it happens again.

It looked like the Scene Gizmo was gone on your screenshot. How did you get it back? Is there a "secret hotkey"? I'm asking as I think I may have run into a similar problem before.

Once the 2D button (upper left hand corner of scene view window) is disengaged the gizmo reappears.  Still not sure how 2D got engaged on mine, but all is good now.  Maybe that is what caused your problem too.

I've had so many problems since then I can hardly remember it, but hopefully I'll remember this if I run into it again.
