2nd shot point placement on short par 5s.

Not sure about the AI's, but human players usually get to aim at pin at distances below 265y on par 5's and are given a 3W.

As for the 2nd shot point, I would place it wherever you intend the layup area to be or where there is a substantial change of direction in the fairway.

What is the best practice for placing the 2nd shot point on very reachable par 5s?  Specifically to help the AI go for the green.

The first hole at Riviera is reachable with a long iron from the fairway and a 7 wood or 5 wood from the rough. Laying up would be very rare.

Should I still place the second shot point in wedge range or move it up closer to the green?  I haven't played with an AI player in a while so I'm not sure if the logic will notice how short the hole is without a shot point being moved.
