Currently left and right.

I guess uphill downhill left out otherwise we would have ball grid overload.

You can trace the slope of your put by moving the aim marker along your intended line, and if you keep the left mouse button down, you'll see the reading for distance marker is away from ball and also the markers relation up/down to the ball, so it gives you a mental picture of the slope you are putting over.

;)

Okay I'll try that thanks

So after 4 hours play I've enjoyed the game:

Things I'm struggling with:

Is there a pitch shot option?
Do lies affect club distance?
If someone leaves an online game is there any way to continue?
How do I enter into text chat ?

Congratulations on a Solid start for Perfect Golf....

So after 4 hours play I've enjoyed the game:

Things I'm struggling with:

Is there a pitch shot option? Not yet, but one will be developed. FULL, SPLASH and CHIP and the SHOT SHAPER only current shot options
Do lies affect club distance? Yes, but more noticeable the lesser amount of assists being used
If someone leaves an online game is there any way to continue? ??
How do I enter into text chat ? Press ENTER when in game

Congratulations on a Solid start for Perfect Golf....

kennettharry I'm having the same problem when I open steam it shows the games I've previously purchased allows me to log in  and put perfect golf in my cart to purchase but then doesn't recognise me as human. How did you solve the problem?Getting help from Steam is impossible if you try to open a seperate account to get support you cant register because it doesn't recognise you as human and just points you at "frequently asked questions"  Having waited to play the game for so long It is incredably frustrating not to be able to do so.Someone please help

We have no pitch shot animation yet but you can hit pitch and lob shots by right clicking inside the swing meter to bring up the shot centre. You can change the loft or your shot in there to hit softer landing pitches and lob shots. You can change your default clubs in your players options and you will find a 64 degree wedge in there which will help with that.

Rough lies take power and spin off the shot.

You cant continue at the moment when someone leaves the game but this is on our fix list.

You can hit enter to use the in game chat function but currently it seems there is a delay sending the messages so it's also on our fix list.

Mixed impressions so far but the HUGE thing missing for me is a Real Time Swing.  The Motion Swing is, of course, not a RTS.

I assume a RTS will be implemented very soon ?

I realize it's still early days and there is a lot to do yet.  There are lots of good points  but PLEASE a Real Time Swing soon !!

The more power you give the shot (beyond 12:00) the more spin you put on the ball.  The less power the less spin.  So, if you had to overpower the 8 iron to get the distance the option would be to hit a softer 7 iron to reduce the spin.  Hope this helps.

I hope, when the pitch shot animation comes along, that we don't have a 'pitch' option. This is one of my biggest gripes with TGC because all you need to do with most pitch shots is to select a pitching club and hit a full shot. Pitching should be one of most difficult and rewarding shots to play, and will separate the good players from the ordinary ones. Why make it so easy? When pitching you should have a pitching set up but a pitch shot is just a percentage of a full shot and should be so in PG.
In real life I could set up for a 40 yard pitch shot but still hit the ball 100 yards if I wanted to.

Hi Everyone

Reading the forum I was a little aprehensive about buying this early access, even though I've been following for months and looking forward to the release.

I'm starting to wonder if this current trend for buying into games during their development cycle is for me, but I took the plunge (ironically with money in my steam account I got from a redund on a poor Early Access release earlier this month)

Personally, I feel a golf sim is a technology I would be prepared to back, and it's clear the team here know what they're doing and are passionate about the product.

My thoughts are that, clearly there is a long way to go but, I think the future of golf sims is in very good hands, and it's great to have this platform back in use with a serious golf sim.

From some of the negative reactions I feared the worst, but it's real nice. It feels like a smooth, realistic engine. The courses look stunning, and it "feels" right.

I'm a golfer and I think that so many titles have missed the mark down the years, but I'm excited about the future for Perfect Golf and look forward to following it's development! :)

I think you're off to a fantastic start!

As we play with the title more, is there a most appropriate way to provide feedback/suggestions on the game?

Nick

Nick,

The forums are the proper vehicle. If you look on the 'forum' home page, under 'Software Suites', you will see 3 topics related to PG. The names of each are self explanatory. The 1st one is appropriate for general discussion. Each of the 3 have topics that you can respond or expand on or you can start you own topic. Go for it!

Dave,

The motion swing is as it is, as the RTS will need to be tied to the animation, and that is basically a placeholder at the moment.

It is definitely on the development to-do list, but like Richard has already said, it is a small team, who currently have a lot on their plate. I guess it is all about prioritising and deciding which enhancements/fixes are the most needed. I guess as more and more folks ask for certain things, they will get bumped up the priority chain.

;)

Daz, it's important to make sure that folks now that a RTS swing is coming in the future and I appreciate your reiteration of that here.  I know for myself, a real time analog swing interface, and preferably an option for using a wireless thumbstick controller, such as the XBox 360 wireless controller, it would transform Perfect Golf from a technical curiosity to visceral, sensual experience!  With Perfect Golf's motion swing's heavy reliance, I get chills thinking of what this *could* feel like in real time with a well make thumbstick controller!
