I am almost finished with Firestone South.  One thing I noticed is that the grass colors don't always look the same.  I've attached 3 pictures that show the grass colors in Unity, during a flyover, and during free camera looking from a different view.  Does anyone have any idea what is causing the difference in colors?

It's a question of light direction. When the view is in backlit, it's darker and when sun is behind you, it's lighter. Works the same way as camera.

In addition the angle you view the grass from will make a difference as light bounces off the ground and at lower angles you will see a Fresnel effect.

Thanks for the answers.  I thought I might have been doing something wrong.  Since everything looks OK, I should be releasing Firestone South for beta testing in the next day or two.

There may also be a mismatch between a texture on the terrain and the out CF spline meshe. You can load the terrain texture into a photo editing program and tweak is so that it matches more closely.

I have something messed up in the layers library.  I changed back to the default library, rebuilt both the splines and the course, and now the grasses blend very well (just like all of the other courses that I've played).  Fortunately, I haven't changed much in the layers library so I plan to delete my custom library and start the customization again.  The only thing I want to change is to add semi-rough as a Fringe to the Fairway to get a first cut.

I am still having issues with the different grass colors.  Here is what I did to troubleshoot the issue.

-Switched back to the default library.

-Rebuilt splines and built the course.  Colors look good.

-Deleted the custom library from both my Unity project and the folder on the computer.

-Performed a Save As to the new library.

-Changed the Fairway definition to use Semi-Rough as the Fringe with the following settings.

-Rebuilt the course and the colors look like my original pictures.

Has anyone else used my method to create the first cut or should I draw another set of spline curves?
