Hey Rob,

Looking so nice, can't wait to play.

For the bush on hole #2 and #3, are you using 2Plantetrees bush or you made some with speedtree modeler? And for the building you did it your self with Cinema 4D or Blender?

Thank you

When watching tournaments on links courses in the British Isles like St. Andrews they always talk about how balls can run a long way, playing bump and runs etc.  Crow, I noticed that you indicated that you played it using hard/hard.  To simulate what playing a course like this should the settings be hard/hard?  Thanks.

Oh, I don't know about that.  I just wanted it to play extremely difficult and chose Hard/Hard because I never play that way, but Normal/Normal wouldn't be a pushover either here.  But there are definitely lots of places to play "bump and run" types of shots here.

Hmm recommended settings for this gem? I would say that the course IRL basically plays two ways as although the ground is sand based and dries out very quickly it does rain a lot in this part of the world!

If you play when it's dry I would recommend hard/hard with a stimp of 11 or 12 and realistic greens. When it's a bit wetter normal/normal with bumpy greens at 10 stimp would be pretty much spot on.

Either way when it's complete playing at the home of golf will be a wonderful experience and Rob has done an amazing job with it so far.

And one or two rounds of real gusty winds would probably be quite realistic as well. Often the weather is the main defense of links courses.

I remember Rory shooting a 63 in the first round (calm), followed by an 82 or 83 the next day (windy) on this course during an Open.

When testing the course through the build I have been using the real weather and have been getting 25-30 mph crosswinds at times.... which is fun!!!!!

Having played this course over on WGT for many years, I was really looking forward to playing your course Rob. Having just finished my first 18 holes, I can say there is absolutely no comparison. It was like playing two completely different courses. And, I like your version head and shoulders over and above that other one. I especially liked seeing some pin placement I had never seen before. Specifically on #2 and #17.

All in all, can't wait to get back and play it again with some different settings. WELL DONE MY FRIEND!
