RTS-C - How does Fat/Thin get determined?

Could someone in the know please explain a bit about how the fat/thin contact is determined on RTS-C shots?

A slice makes it fat, hook makes it thin.

Correct. Cause there's no tempo in C like there is in M

So why can't the same tempo system that is used in RTS-C to determine swing speed and calculate gain/loss be used at a slower rate to determine fat/thin for certain shots?

I was wondering the same thing for the RTSM.  Now that the pitch shots are running out more,  more realistic I agree, how do you hit a low pitch shot with spin so that it hits, takes a bounce and stops or spins back a little like I see the pros do all the time?  Saw this while watching the golf tournament on TV today.  Stricker had about a 55yd pitch where the ball did just that. There were two or three others that had similar shots.  There should be a way to do that in PG.

You might wanna ask the devs, I suppose, sorry, I don't know.

Well, I was interested to see how the difficulty had been ramped up on RTS-C for greenside bunker shots because on 3-C now it is diabolically hard compared to the previous version. Knowing how bad my swing path was in RTS-C (one of the reasons I've switched back to 3C) I fully expected the splash shots to be impossible for me now, if they used the swing path to determine fat/thin!! Actually I noticed little difference from before except less backspin..... :blink:

There should be a way yes, but we will just return to that kind of shot being a get out jail free shot, i would rather not see it, even though it may well be possible, realism can only be taken so far in video golf games, i would much rather the realistic scoring and challenging gameplay over stopping a pitch on a dime without much effort.

In principle i agree with you. But distances between 55 - 70 yards are almost unplayable when you don't have 15-20 yards of green to play with. At least if you go into overswing zone it should be possible to stop the ball. And i would be absolutely okay if the penalty on that shots would be higher. More spin applied more penalty on the short game.
