Pin is not on the green?

Best Answer Dropzone73 , 19 January 2017 - 06:50 AM

I had made my own green spline (it included "green" in the name also) and it used the green mesh, so it was weird that it didn't work. I changed my green spline to "Green" and it solved my problem. Now I have a new problem when my first version of the course is ready but I will make a new topic out of it.

Thank you all for your help!!!

When I create a course in Course Forge I get the message that one of my pins is not on the green. I guess this has something to do with the fact that I created my first pin to the different green. Then I decided to make tees and pins to a different hole (also hole 1) to check my work in JNPG. I removed that first pin from the wrong hole 1 and also all the other pins and then created them again. I'm very sure that there is no pin that is out of the green any more.

I still get that message "some pin is not on the green" in the list where all the lacking staff is listed before course is created. How can I get rid of it? Should I change the number of my new hole 1 or what?

My pins are also rounded with different colour grass texture than the rest of the green in JNPG. I guess it's because I created my first pin when my greens where darker. How can I fix that?

You could also click on the pin placement tool thing then click on the flag thing to drop a pin now you will see or should see all the white text of your course which shows you not only pins but where the Tees are and the shot points anyway then check every green and make sure they have the required 3 pins minimum and verifying the green that you are looking at and the pin you are looking at for that green match up for example hole 1 green should have only hole 1 pins on it. It seems with the pin/tee tool one could be working on say hole 5 and it reverts to hole 1 and a pin or tee for the wrong hole could easily be placed anyhere ... checking out every white text should find it but you will have to weed through the shot points text and the Tee text too. whoo hoo

Thank you all for your replies! I appreciate your help.

I'll check these out when I have some time. I think the problem is bacause I placed one test pin first to other green and then decided to place pins to different green with the same hole number. I know there isn't an extra pin anymore (I have searched for that white pin text from the whole universe :o ), but there was first because I forgot that I had placed that one test pin. So the hole number might be the problem, because both greens where hole no 1. And JNPG might think that hole no 1 is now on the green where I placed that first pin. Now I have to figure out how to fix this.

I'll have to place pins and tees to those 17 other holes too, but I only need one hole at this point to check out my work in JNPG and I have managed to do that even if that error message appears. So this aint too critical but it disturbs me a little because it may couse some troubles in the future.

Are you using a green fringe spline for a green instead of the green spline somewhere?

That will also cause the message to appear.

Thank you!

That just might be the case. I'm not home at the moment, but I might have tuned green fringe spline to be my green spline. That would explain everything, even the different colour texture around my pin.

The problem with the thing to is that you may be working on hole 5 and you make the thing show hole 5 then you put down a pin or flag then you go back to this and it reverts back to hole 1 always to the default so you have to constantly look over your shoulder
