Help with Fairway Fringe

Best Answer DPRoberts , 31 January 2017 - 04:12 PM

By adding the fairway fringe, you have added a "virtual spline point width" to the fairway that is now running into another spline. It is likely spline points either too close to a bunker or the green. If it's constructed the way I think you have done it, the fairway fringe is added internal to the outer most fairway spline point so I'd look at interference with a green spline point.

You have to be the at least the width of the new fairway fringe away from those green points. Go to the full post

Ok I'm working on 2 holes and noticed after watching Mikes very good layers lib tut. that I didn't have any fairway fringe (I know, not very observant)

This is the issue, I can add a fairway fringe on my 2nd hole, no problem.

But on my first hole, when I add the fringe, the fairway freaks out, as you can see in the 2nd pic. it kind of adds fairway and that added fairway is floating above ground..

Im doing the same thing as I did on the 2nd hole, with different result.

Notice in 2nd pic how the fairway was added outside my fairway spline, when I try to add fringe?

1st pic is of before and 2nd is after adding fringe. Any help please?

I'm sure I could delete fairway and redraw but that's added work and now that I have this problem, I want to know how to avoid it in future.

Ahh haa! You are wise DP, thank you. That was it. I was thinking that when I added it, it would expand out, not in..

Thanks again.. Yesssss! :D
