As people have been drawn here from many different golf games, I thought I'd post these videos I made a couple of years ago, of play from the Offline UK Tour. I actually play all my games there online with my brother and mate as Links 2003 has a direct connection option for online play.

The first video is of play from The Masters at Augusta. This course was created by more than one Links designer, including Andrew Jones and Mike Jones of PP fame!

Crowds do not appear on all shots, because many players don't have them turned on. Also the new tournament objects added to the latest version of Augusta are not shown because they can make the golf harder, so most people are too competitive to turn these on!!

The second video is of some of the 'holes in one' made on the Tour that year.

Let me just say that the hole in one thing you keep talking about was a HACK that some dishonest people chose to use... Wasn't something that was built into the game...

I looked at those videos and to be honest, they don't have any real 3d environment like TW08 has but to each his own..

@axe360 - As far as I can remember, this is the first time I've ever mentioned HIO's on Tiger Woods!

I just speak from my past experience of playing Tiger Woods games, and have no knowledge of, and have never used any HACK. The simple fact of the matter was that in the versions of TW that I played, the ball was helped into the hole by the game engine, especially when the player's attributes increased. I cannot speak for TW08 because I gave up playing TW games some time ago. The amount of HIO's I had on Tiger Woods though was laughably unrealistic. I'm sure I had more in one month than I have had in the seven years I've been playing Links 2003 for.

For me, realistic golf physics has always been more important than '3D environment', but as you say - to each his own. ;)

Fortunately, it looks like Perfect Golf will please both of us! :)

Here are Perfect Parallel, since this is a corporate site we welcome players from all forms of online golf games.  We want all players from any game to be comfortable here and exist in harmony.  Everyone should feel free to promote their favourite game that they play but should not go out of their way to criticize other games for the sake of it.  It is a fine line between discussing differences in the game and what people like and dont like about them which is helpful to us in determining what aspects from each game in the past to include in Perfect Golf and just being inflamatory.  To clarify for everyone:

GOOD

I have always been a links player and while I miss the fact that it is not a full 3D environment I have always felt that the imagery provided by 2D objects has never been equaled in a full 3D environment

I have played TWO and TW2013 and in my opinion it is the most up to date game from a technology perspective and I could never go back to a game that is not fully 3D

BAD

Tiger Woods is it is just like a cartoon and is meant for kids in an arcade

Links is just a fake 3D environment with stupid mods like the Power Mod.

I am going to leave this thread  alone for now since it is in off topic but if it turns even remotely into a flame war between links and TW I will have no qualms to delete it

Acrilix, I never ever meant that YOU used a hack, would never do that. Just saying I noticed when TW's had the servers up, that a number of clubs had way to many hole in ones for any human being to ever have.

So I hope you don't take my replies personally  as they were never meant that way..

Yes, looks like PG will please us both. :)

P.S. Yes I agree with you Andrew and I guarantee you won't get a flame war from me... Doesn't help anyone..

@Andrew - I'm sure we all have our reasons for liking the games we do, and it is only natural to defend them.  It is easy for things to slip in from time to time that may be misinterpreted, especially when humour is involved that may not translate well globally. We are all here at the end of the day because we love playing golf.

@axe360 - no problems. I can get a little sensitive at times, but I do try to stay honest, and fair with everyone. My sense of humour can sometimes confuse people though, when there was really no intention to.

As you both have stated, sense of humor is misinterpreted.  Good for all of us to steer clear of little jabs and zingers until we all
get to know each other better.  Until someone is a true cyber-friend in this forum, a person's jargon can get them into trouble.
