I was hoping that the simulation mode would have improved during the last year but it has become worse. Now the console stops working all the time (it craches) and connection is lost about every second hole (I'm using usb cable). How is this possible?

Back spinns are crazy in all chips that are hit thin or have shot with 9 to 4 iron.

I sent the message to hoganwood that I can start testing but my culf muscle is broken so I must give it a rest. Hope they are really doing something to get these issues fixed. I must say that I feel quite bad how thing have been going with this. And we, simulation players have paid 2350€ for Skytrak plus 350€ per year for simulation use. And if I understood it right, prices are even raising. So some people are unhappy with game that has cost 20 to 30 €, but we have invested quite much to get this kind of simulation.

It's useless to get new courses and other stuff if basic functions aren't working like they should.

Please fix the things that are because of JNPG. Skytrak should do their part.

Skytrack shortgame testing is indeed going on at OGT and progress is being made.  See some of the comments below from a tester.  Btw, there hasnt been any increase in price.

As for the lost connection on every second hole, that could be a problem with your internet connection?  Havent seen similar reports by other Skytrak users.

I've had my SkyTrak for about 9 months now. When I initially purchased it, I ran it in network mode and I very rarely lost connection. Then after about 3 or 4 months, it would lose connection after 2-3 holes in network mode. After web chatting with SkyTrak, they told me that for PCs the only supported mode was via USB. I then switched to USB and have been running that way since then. Ever since I switched to USB mode I lose connection about once per round. I'm not sure if this is a static electricity build up or some other cause.

After I switched to USB mode, SkyTrak will not register about 5-8 shots per round. Some of these are putts and some of these are full shots. I have not noticed any pattern to which shot it will miss.

Since the SkyTrak 2.5.4 app was released, it looks like SkyTrak is now supporting network mode again. I am going to try this again today to see if works better than USB mode. I know some people recommend purchasing a dedicated WiFi adapter that plugs into a USB port and setup the SkyTrak to use this. They claim that they very rarely lose connection using this method.

If I don't have success today using network mode, I'm going to try to contact SkyTrak again and see if they have any ideas of why I keep losing connection via network mode.

My 100 mb optical internet connection should be fine. SkyTrak didn't stop working this often before. The lights burn green but nothing happens. Even the laser dot dissapears. And often after this, when pressing some buttons in the console, it craches. And often when selecting the simulation mode again to start the console, it crashes again.

The console didn't use to crach before. Unregistered shots have always been there.

Nice to hear that short chips are getting progress. Advice those testers to chip also with 9 and 8 iron. The spinns are just grazy, but this can be ST's fault. So don't just chip with wedges. The problem doesn't show up as clearly when chipping with wedges.

I'll check my internet connections and maybe try the network mode also. It's just frustrating that you'll always have to be tweaking something to keep this simulation functioning! :( It actually means that it doesn't work.

I have gotten a letter from skygolf where they say that some customers may continue with the same price but most people will have to buy a more valuable package from them to get SkyTrak work with JNPG. So the raise of prices comes from that direction to most of people.

That's good to hear ;).

I'd like to hear your opinion about spinn rates zmax. I'm quite new to what spinn rates should be, so I want your opinion.

If I'm chipping 20-30 meter chips with 8 iron, what should be a normal spinn rate. Very often SkyTrak shows +- 6000 spinn rate. I even got spinn rates of 8000 - 9000 rpm which is totally grazy. I have a feeling that spinn rate should be about 1500-3000 rpm in this kind of shots but I want to know the truth. SkyTrak's software doesn't show back spinn so it's easy to ignore the spinn rate. JNPG reads the spinn rates and we got huge back spinns in simulation.

Sky Golf should fix this, but I think that there could be a work around In JNPG also where spinn level get's some kind of maximum level / ball speed or something like that.

Wow.  That is way too much back spin for 30m 8 iron chip.  Should be less than 3k.  Either Skytrak is wrong or your mat is causing the massive backspin.  Please try a different mat.  If this is a know Skytrak issue, then they need to fix it.

I agree max 3000 rpm sounds right.

I have the best quality range mat and It works just fine. I have to try marking my golf balls with some letters or shapes if it helps SkyTrak to read spinn better. So the spinn issue is because of SkyTrak, I have been trying to say that in my other posts. Sure JNPG could do some spinn reducing check to chip shots (=shots with very low ball speed) before it displays the shot with that kind of spinn.

SkyGolf should definitely fix this anyway. It somehow doubles or tribles the spinn rate by reading the photo samples incorrectly in most of the chips.
