Anyone knows what this error message means?

Assets/Standard Assets/Utility/TimedObjectActivator.cs(4,19): error CS0234: The type or namespace name `SceneManagement' does not exist in the namespace `UnityEngine'. Are you missing an assembly reference?

I tried to turn on Course Forge from the navigation, but it is missing. See screenshot. Do I need to re install CF from steam? It is still checked off in Steam.[post='CTckqXv.png'][/post]

It appears that you do not a have a Perfect Parallel folder

in your project. You can usually find it in C:/ Documents/Perfect Parallel.

I do have Perfect Parallel in my documents. Within it are three folders: Config, Courses, Libraries

Not sure why/how this disappeared. I was using it last night and this morning it was gone. When I open my 1st course, everything is honkey dorey. This issue lies with my 2nd course which I just finished adding all the splines for fairway, sand, rough over a lidar plot.

No Putt - thanks for responding. Do you know how to add Perfect Parallel back? I re-watched the appropriate tutorials but that didn't do anything.

Nick

I saw this in my investigation. Not sure what it means or what I need to do to fix. Any ideas?

Looks like you need to re-import the Perfect Parallel and Perfect Parallel Libraries (a known good one) and hopefully you have a backup of your terrain. Usually backups using the PP menu are saved in the Course folder, but if the course folder is missing too, that won't help. If your course folder is still there, make a backup of the terrains that are in there before re-importing CF. OR Try a previously saved scene first, might bring it back.  Can't really tell whats in your project folder from the pic.

First obvious question is what version of Unity are you using?

Thanks Jimbobh - I tried loading a previously saved scene (didn't) work, but not a backup. It is not showing any backups in my Course folder. I've definitely backed it up. When I check my other course, all backups are listed. So maybe reimporting  PP and PP libraries is the answer? Could I just copy it from my other course?

Mike - I am using version 5.2.3f1.

Possibly relating back to the last pic I posted highlighting the scripts, I've noticed that when I open this course causing issues, I see the following note before it opens:

HoldOn - Compiling Scripts

I do not get this message when I load my 1st course that works with no issues.

Your guidance it greatly appreciated.

Nick

Firstly, make a backup of your project folder. (copy and paste it in a different location). Then you can open the backup and mess with that copy just so things don't get screwed up anymore in the original. :)

Then you can Delete the Perfect Parallel Folder, Copy the Perfect Parallel Folder from your known good course folder into your asset folder in the back up. That should bring the Perfect Parallel menu back. But your Terrain is still missing. If this all works and the PP menu is there, click the load terrain button and see what is there and it's location.

Check the Terrain settings in the inspector, click the cog wheel, make sure the Base Terrain "Draw" Box is checked. ( just above Pixel Error setting)

Your Terrain backups could of been saved somewhere else. If you named your backup, you could try doing a search in your computer.

Hope something works,, Jim

P.S. It is possible to reload the Terrain from your Lidar files without losing your Splines, but try these thing first. I can explain it later.

Jimbobh, you will either laugh at me or want to kill me after this...How do you make a backup of the project folder? Do you mean the project folder in in Unity (see last image pasted above, next to red box)? Not sure how to copy that. Does the project folder live in C:/Documents? I searched but don't see anything named project or the like that contains all those different assets listed.

Also I can't find any backups of the issue course. Maybe I didn't back it up. I just started it recently, so maybe I just got carried away adding splines, etc. and just spaced it. This is so frustrating. I have plenty of backups of my 1st course.

The project folder is the location on you drive where you saved it. It could be in your Documents. You need to copy that folder and paste it in another location. Possibly make a new folder, rename it to like backups and paste it inside that folder.

Gotcha. OK, all set. I saved the entire project to a new folder on my desktop. Now what you suggest is to make changes to this newly saved project folder, which includes the folder called Assets, on my desktop rather than the original project location in Documents. I will move forward with your next recommendation to delete the Perfect Parallel Folder then copy the Perfect Parallel folder from my good course folder into my asset folder in the back up.

Question  - Once I make this update in the backup folder, I will then want to load this backup in Unity rather than the existing original it has always loaded? Does my backup I created need to live within Documents rather than desktop?

Thanks for your continued help and more importantly, patience!

On your desktop is fine. When you start Unity, instead of selecting a course listed, select OPEN and navigate to your new folder on your desktop.

No dice. I updated the PP folders in my backup then loaded it into Unity. As you can see, PP isstill not in navigation and in lower left, says asset folder can't be found (it's there in my backup I created). I tried to load a saved scene and it then displayed the "Missing Prefab" in my hierarchy.

Thoughts????

Don't want to add to the confusion but it sounds like there was a moment that the 2nd course was ok. Is it possible you have Windows 10 and File History enabled?

If so, your PC probably has the good files from several days back and you could copy the Unity project in question from there and open it.

Hey DPRoberts - yes the 2nd course was OK three days ago. Yes, windows 10. No, File History not enabled, but now it is. Bummer. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm at the point where I might just delete it entirely and start over. Ughhhh.  Hoping there are other suggestions though.

Appreciate everyone's time.

Make a unity package of the entire project and upload it to dropbox or other file sharing site. I'm sure there are some kind souls here who will take a look. Might turn out to be an easy fix.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I ended up sending the files to Jim and he was able to add Perfect Parallel back.  The main issue was my utility folder. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be in the project folder, but deleting it brought back the PP menu. Once that was back, my project still wouldn't load, so I had to re import the PP folder. I used a good PP folder from a previous course. I also had to load back in the terrain and lidar file, which brought back everything.

Jim indicated he eventually got an error message trying to refresh the splines and it focused on a practice green I had in the driving range. It was corrupt so had to delete it, which then allowed the splines to refresh and I  was back in business.

If it wasn't for Jim's assistance I likely would have just deleted everything and started over. He's was a tremendous help.
