Have to say I'm finding the game crashes and knocking out the PC for 5 minutes after every round to be more of a nuisance than I wish to continue to experience for much longer.

SC, I understand your frustration. I hope you'll check back in occasionally as you're a valued member of the community. Who knows...things could improve. I understand if you don't want to hold your breath.

I actually had the game minimize in the middle of a swing twice in the last month. This game will probably always be buggy, but I still feel it's the best golf game on the market. I know that's not saying much.

Well i have to say that PG is prob the least buggy game i have in my quite large steam library, i don't think it has ever crashed on me.  I do however have no anti virus or non microsoft programs running silently or in background, being a long time gamer i'm kinda obsessive like that.

Minimizing is caused by background programs/processes. I know that Skype has caused this to happen more than once during my JNPG games.

A little tip for those that may not know..

go to start and type run

In run box type msconfig

in services check box hide all microsoft services, now look at what you have running and disable anything you know you do not need to be running whilst gaming, all i have running is two nvidia programs and steam, everything else is disabled, if i need it i will start it manually.

back in msconfig go to start up and looksee what you have starting with windows, again if you do not need it, disable it from startup

only thing i have in startup is my audio manager icon and windows defender icon

The only other program i may have running during gameplay is team speak or shadowplay, both cause no issues.

oh and background progs like skype could most def cause a jump to minimize mid game, acrillix is correct.

I have no other programs running in the background. There will always be background processes running, but it's on PP to make sure that doesn't interfere with their game. I sure as hell have never had a game do that before.  It never happened in the two years before the last minor update. It's only happened twice so I'm not too worried about it.

I'm just trying to help, and point out the cause.... not defend the game's devs.

3 click meters should stop the instant you click them.... for some of us they don't.... for this we don't even have a cause, so things could be worse!

You are correct in implying that many PC Gamers are just not aware of what needs to running in the background.  All these crashes are most likely due to anti-malware programs.  OEM bloatware etc.

My game is as smooth as can be, except for an occasional hang after closing the game.  It's ISP's and unoptimized machines.

JNPG is the only game I own on Steam that consistently has random bugs. The only common thread is JNPG.
