I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the posters on this board. Especially those posting tips, tricks, and fixes for those of us getting used to Course Forge.

I have been struggling with CF because I stuck with the JN5/GBC course designers for so long. There have been more than a few times where I have ran into a problem, taken screenshots, and was ready to post long, "So, I was importing a texture...." type questions. Only to dig through the existing posts to find somebody had already answered a similar question, or gave a tip that actually allowed me to do what I wanted to better than I was trying to do it. I am getting the hang of it now, and look forward to what I will be able to produce.

This community reminds me a lot of the early JN5 days that got me hooked on computer golf course design. Here's to two decades of getting better at this designing program. Yes..... JN5 was two decades ago for all you guys that played it. Yes..... that makes us old.

You, Sir, are a true hero!

What now? Using the search function to answer your own questions yourself? Refraining from posting a SOS thread at the first difficulty - and by that humbly assuming that you and your setback are not unique and that your query might already have been addressed? Daring to quietly educate yourself without imposing on others? What a rare and novel thing to do!

I salute you!

Hey, if it wasn't for newbies posting annoying questions, what else would you have to do around here  :P

It's typical to have "needy" people in a community like this. In the JN5/GBC forums, we would respond to the first post of it's kind, and then just post URLs as a reply to any after that. I noticed that you guys have started something similar here. Plus, I work at an IT help desk for a 900+ employee company, and deal with people that submit tickets for issues they took no time to self-diagnose. Then, there are the people that refrain from submitting tickets at the drop of a hat, and when they do, it's usually something that even stumps me. I usually go above and beyond to help those people, but not so much for the former. Anyway, thanks again to everybody on this forum that is willing to share their wisdom. Some of us are working in the background quietly on our own, and truly appreciate the time it took you to formulate responses to these issues.

On a similar note, I have seen the occasional bashing of the developers while searching through posts on here and Steam. I would like to personally thank the developers(and entire Perfect Parallel team for that matter) for bringing us such an amazing platform in which to express our creativity and love for computer simulated golf. The JN5/GBC community was able to create wonderful courses and hold active tournaments for over a decade with no developer support whatsoever. In the words of the developers I work with at my company, "There will be bugs....... get over it."

I recently took to looking thru the search to find a topic that i know has been posted in the past rather than enquire again, eventually i found it, but it took quite sometime to nail it down.  I'd rather pose the question again in future, like jt83 said...what else is there to do around here!

I've found the search feature to be a less than fulfilling excercise too although I persevere as a first step if only to avoid any numerical wrath that's sure to come my way.
