Ok, somehow I screwed up my water and now when you fly low in one direction, I see this green swampy looking water IE: see pic.

Only thing I was playing around with at first was the speed of the water, ok, no big deal, then I don't know what happened and I started seeing like radioactive water, so I seemed to of fixed that by adjusting the PPWaterbump map.

Anyone have this happen or anyone help me with a fix?

Spent hours on this can't figure it out. If no fix then I will leave it alone as it looks okay unless you zoom across the surface. I just think I screwed something up with my water and can't get back to the stock look.

Thanks m8s for any help.

Note: I started a practice course, laid down some water and made sure all the settings were the same on my course water settings.

See this pic. It kindof looks ok in the forefront but in the distance it doesn't look right. Compared to stock water on my practice course.

Damn.

Could it be your Quality Settings Axe?  Might not hurt to check.

I was wondering if the water material's cubemap was all jacked up

Looks like a cubemap issue, yes. Maybe it isn't jacked up, it just is what it is...

That green sheen in your clip, Larry, could very easily come from one of the cubemaps (which are faking a reflection that is not at all realistic) that has a major, green portion in the foreground. Try and drag the other cubemap into the slot of your inspector, it should be less green at the bottom.

One of the problems of these cubemaps is that if you zoom way back, as in your last image, they always stay the same size, no matter what, and the sliver of water only shows you a small portion.

It is a true quandary. You are using PPwater, I see, which is fantastic expect for reflections. Unity Water4Pro can do reflections and transparency and shore foam, yes, but always feels plasticky and off in comparison to PPwater. So pick your poison.

With PPwater I usually just kill the cubemap entirely and instead load the skybox to reflect at least the clouds and the sky. For my personal taste buds, no reflection at all is preferable to a visibly wrong reflection. Or, as with my latest course, I tweak the water into a muddy swamp to explain the absence of reflections.

Hold everything. RMOOR I think you have figured it out. I checked my Quality Settings and they were on Fastes Not Fantastic as soon as I switched, I think I got my water back.

Am compiling right now but so far it looks like it used to in the CF. BB in a minute to report.

Ok now that I switched to Fantastic Quality Settings (don't know how that changed) but water IE: ripples all look back to normal.

However, I still have the green swamp unless I change to the other cube.

Now the original cube when clicked on has one missing texture from the 6 boxes (the "bottom" box). Could that be my issue? When you clik on the other cube, all those 6 boxes have a texture in them?

If so, does anyone know how to get that "bottom box texture" back?

water2.jpg

Here is the other cube which has all boxes filled. And NO green swamp.

water3.jpg

Ok so 2 things, my Quality Settings were wrong (don't know what happened there) and I think I've got something wrong with the first "Default Cube" missing one texture?

So I'm good to go but would like to see if we can figure out how to fix that?

Thanks to all for your help!

You could choose to reimport the CF package but on the import selection screen, deselect all and find the cubemap and check the box next to that and import. Basically, importing only the cubemap.

If you're worried about that, could export it from another project and then import or drag and drop into your Amana project.

Heres the thing. I made a practice course and the damn thing is missing from there too. Also I think having 2 courses screws something up. The other day, I was on a practice course that I had some custom textures on. Well, I opened up Unity and they were gone, so I noticed it generated a folder named "OLDER" and it was in my Water/Sources folder in the Project.

Well funny thing is when I opened up Amanas course, that folder was in there too. Very strange.

Thanks Matt, I think I will try one of those.

Can one of you click on that first default cube and tell me if that one box is empty? I just tried reinstalling the cubes and that box is still gone on my practice course and still have the green swamp.

Thanks

One more idea. Could my PPTexture that goes with the water have somehow been changed? This is what mine looks like.

Ahh probably not, or the other cube would show the green swamp too.

See Matt and Richard, you were right. hehe
