All bunker splines changed to concrete?!

Best Answer rmoor13 , 21 August 2017 - 01:30 AM

When you open the Course Forge Menu, there is the column of icons/tools that will show on the left-hand side of your screen in Unity.  If you click on the icon that looks like a folder, it is the layers library.  Open that and you can see its properties, name, spline names, etc.

Just realized that at some point all my "bunker tan" splines have changed to "concrete". If that's not serious enough, both the bunker and tan bunker spline types are no longer offered when creating splines (or changing them). And no, I haven't been playing with the layers library recently. I checked previous saves, and the problem started about 4 saves ago (don't know how I missed it). Its a real pain. Any ideas what happened and how to fix it short of going back four sessions?

Worrybirdie, you might have to re-load the library you had.   Which one is showing now?

I didn't know they had names. How do I find out? How do I change it back? To be honest the 4 saves I've lost were in quick succession (short sessions as I was playtesting), so I won't lose too much. But I'll have to figure out what I did, and redo it. Besides, it sounds like I could expand my knowledge in this area of Unity (or CF?).

I really appreciate your help.

Found it! And it was set to "Water Bunker" (I have no idea why). Set it back to default and got the bunker option back. Bad news is enough of the bunkers need to be switched back, and a bunch of other splines show evidence of corruption (may have to refresh all splines...ewww). I have to think about what is easier, going back or fixing it.

Thx Rmoor for the help though. Just getting familiar with the layers library, and you pointed me right.

Instability of the library is an ongoing problem. Sometimes you can go for a long time and no problems. Other times problems arise every day. What I do now is to save the library under a new name if I make a change. On my latest course I have 4 versions of the library. Touch wood I've not....no I'm not going to say it. Tempt providence and all that.

Got everything back to normal (I think  ). I reprocessed all of the splines as there was a large number that had been "corrupted" (they needed to be brought to the surface). Have started playtesting in earnest to see if there are any more idiosyncrasies. If there are then thank goodness for backups! The funny thing was I was about to start on making a custom layer for my course. This really doesn't encourage me much.
