In regards to Tour Pro.  I have discussed the Free Cam (F5) with a couple regular Tour Pro players.  They feel as I do that only Forward View aiming should be allowed in TP.

Supposedly Tour Pro is the closest thing to Real Golf.  A real golfer can only aim at what is in front of him and use his Mind's Eye to visualize anything he cannot see directly in front of him or any distance down the fairway.

I am hoping (strongly) that PG2 will no longer allow the Free Cam (F5) for Tour Pro as well as address the 3Click Snap behavior.

Note:  I never even knew about the F5 key (Free Cam) when I played August's Official Tour Pro tournament.

Note II:  It must be stated clearly that I love this game. My suggestions and critiques have been very few throughout the three years this game has been available to us.  I just want to see it get better.

Crusher, TP is supposed to represent a Professional Golfer. All Professional Golfers, as far as I know, have walked the course, have caddy books, caddies that help them aim, etc. in JNPG, we only have the camera. I think eliminating the F5 camera would be detrimental and take away about the only option available. Of course, they could use the flyby and really drag out the game. I don't think that's a feasible alternative.

I would generally be in favor of something like that except for the rare occasion I need to use it to move the camera around an obstacle.

I believe f5 has to stay for tour pro. It is the only way to aim when in the crap because of coliders that and inside bunkers that are deep or when steep slopes block main cam view

I dont care ether way toss it or keep it. Its not the F5 that is the problem, its F3 left click hold F5 that makes tour pro just as easy to aim as the other levels. Fix that and the F5 would be fine I would think, as long as you can just have a look but not actually aim everyone should be happy.

As I've said before, I'd be a big fan of limiting the range of movement on the F5 camera for TP only. Maybe allow it to raise up a set number of feet and go within a certain radius of the ball.

I didn't know about the method you are explaining. Would you please take us through this step by step.  If one person knows how to do it, all players need to know about it as well.  Thanks.

I posted about this before, but no one seem to care at the time. I am sure 99% of the people playing the game, know how to do this anyway. Go to the driving range or any course you like set to tour pro. Once on the tee zoom out with the F3 once out there pick where ever you would like to aim by holding down the left click button. Keeping the left click button down hit F5 three times, this will put you back on the tee once there release the left click and you will be aiming exactly were you wanted. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing but that is the quickest.

You are doing JNPG a HUGE service by exposing this exploit.  Kudos!

Now more than ever I would like to see the F5 Free Cam removed from the game.  I have hit many blind shots when in the bushes on the side of the green. So it should be for all levels IMHO.

F5 Key - Tour Pro Exploit Revealed

I aimed exactly the way the exploit was revealed to me/us. It works perfectly.  Here is the video showing F3 pressed, aiming marker pressed and held. F5 key tapped 3 times. Cam returns to player and screen jumps to the direction of the aiming pole after releasing F5. The Devs now have 100% proof of this F5 exploit.  Not everyone used this exploit but I have no doubt some have been using it, and for a long time. Seeing is believing golfers. Try it yourself and you'll be astonished.

All credit goes to FreeBolt for revealing this exploit (courage).  I used his instructions to the letter, created the video and now Mike and Andrew can make sure this F5 Key exploit is resolved.

well then, fix the exploit but do not take away the f5 cam.  Rts swingers need to see the golfer in order to swing.

I agree that the f5 freecam should not be removed. It is sometimes the only way to get visibility, and as a Tour Pro I at least want to be able to walk the line from my ball to the flag, or at least a point of visibility to see what I am trying to pull off, shotwise. Especially so for me, because I play with the low camera set as my default view, though will cycle through views in the main screen when lacking visibility, though always playing from the low angle.

Personally I would say it would be fairer to move in the other direction... no aiming in the secondary camera views, limiting it to the inaccuracy of the overhead view at other levels and keeping the overhead as not an active aim device at Tour Pro.

It should be said, aiming is one thing... performing the shot as expected is entirely another!  :D

Good points above, forget how many times you cannot see your player or swing meter and so F5 is essential. Doing away with the F3 work around is a must, it was highlighted a while back, but now brought back to the forefront. Never used it myself, just rely on top cam (yardage book).

Game plays good now, all be it with an odd slide and pause at 7 o clock on 3C, but PG2 without these few loop holes will be even better :) .

I'd be happy to see TP lose the barber pole for any aiming and do it just by rotating the golfer in main cam.

Keep the barber pole if using the BLI so you can read greens but don't have it change the aim.

By all means keep the overhead so you can work out distance to areas on the course and also keep F5 for when view is obscured by bushes, but just lose the barber pole for setting the aim.

Daz, I'm confused. How does rotating the golfer provide aim in a computer game? IRL it's not uncommon for golfers to hold a club straight out and point at their target spot and rotate their body accordingly. How does one accomplish the same effect based on your approach in JNPG?

Just an FYI, this doesn't work using a controller, must be just a mouse based exploit.

Use the left and right cursor keys to see how aim works without using the marker pole. Much more realistic IMO.

Pick a point in the distance and align players feet to that point.

IRL you don't get a red and white stick that you can place 250yds away and set your aim.

As for the arrow used in TW08 for aiming, this was a good idea. The arrow could have been less wide but overall it worked very well. Slide the progress bar on the video to "40" to see the aiming arrow on each shot.
