Hi, as a Trackman user i start playing JNPG. I love JNPG very much. I am also designing courses. I appreciate the work of PP and OGT teams. However we, as Trackman users, have some problems:

1) Putting is very inconsistent (most important).

2) Chipping is effected by backspin too much.

Recently, it became available to start JNPG from Trackman's TPS screen (see attached picture).

There should be a file in the “c:\programdata\trackman\trackman performance studio\” folder called TPS.config (you will find the content of that file below). If you have that file, TPS searches simulator programs like JNPG, TGC and maybe others in your computer. So, if you start any , TPS will continue to work as an “observer” and collect data from Trackman and provide the TPS-resolved data to the game. I have seen that this is working OK in TGC.

However when starting JNPG from the link in TPS, JNPG requests to take the control. If you accept this request, then TPS lost its control over Trackman (If you do not accept the request, JNPG does not work). After casing the TPS-Trackman communication, JNPG uses the data, which it gets directly from Trackman, but not from TPS. Using "JNPG-resolved data" does not produce problem in full-swing strokes. However JNPG can not resolve the putting data as perfectly TPS does it. There is significant amount of backspin effect in JNPG, but not in TPS when you chip. And i guess inconsistent putting is maybe due to those backspin numbers effecting the putting distance.

So, is it possible to make some changes to JNPG, that it will not request to disconnect TPS from Trackman and JNPG will get and use the data provided by TPS. I hope this will end all Trackman problems that exist.

Thanks,

This is the content of the file TPS.config (you can create yourself.):

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
<appSettings>
<add key="KioskMode" value="True" />
</appSettings>
</configuration>

I hope they can help you out there - it sounds like TPS knows the inaccuracies in some of the short game data and attempts to cater for it. As you may have seen, the winner of last season's putting stats on OGT was a 9 handicap, beating +8 handicaps and many excellent putters. Not that that is impossible, it's just he had a Flightscope which as you know, gets an auto 2 putt outside 10 ft and gimme under 10 ft because of the unreliable data it's getting straight from the unit.

So it really mucks the whole putting stats up.

If you want to use the pg button in tps the game connection must be tcpip not trackman4 or trackman3

I tried it, however when i choose TCP IP in PG settings, the red button does not change and there is no option to set up a tcp ip connection within PG. What should i do on either PG side or TPS side?

Once set to tcpip you then close then launch pg from within tps. This is how it is supposed to work. If it does not let me know and I will inform tm

Ok, i did the way you explained. TCP/IP turned to green, indicating connection. PG did not request to take control, so it seems TPS and PG is working together (OK). However my demo mode was set to Trackman, i think. So, with my first shot, PG did not accept my shot and immediately after the shot warned me: "no simulator pass. purchase a pass". If you can arrange my demo pass to TCP/IP mode, then i will have an opportunity to test it.

I bought the season pass for other simulator from Steam. TPS and PG started wo tork together. I can see what are the data for the shot within TPS now. However, results of putting in PG does not reflect the putting data of TPS.  I made putts in putting practice area (everywhere was level). TPS shows a 10 feet putt, but putt in PG goes 3 feet. PG is always slower around ratio of 1/3 or 1/4. What can we do now?

What was the putting ball speed of that 10 ft putt in TPS? TCP connection was calibrated for exactly 10 stimp using GC2. So, a 4.1(roughly)mph putt would go 10 ft if game was set to 10 stimp.

Was there any backspin numbers or launch angle?

Could be a meter to feet conversion issue.

Have made many tests with TCP/IP connection of Trackman. Here are the results:

1) With TCP/IP both Total Performance Suit (TPS) of Trackman and PG works together (this is good).

2) Putting distances of PG are about  1/3 - 1/4 of TPS. The putting speed and corresponding distances in TPS software itself are all correct.

3) Putting data are not read from TPS. Why can I be sure about this? Because the situation of putting is same in TCP/IP connection (TPS+PG working together) and TM4 connection (PG forcing to disconnect from TPS and using data directly from Trackman). So, in both situation PG get data direclty from Trackman device and make some adjustments which results in these distance differences.

Please make Trackman putting fair.

Sounds like they are passing M/S instead of MPH.  I have notified Trackman.  Andrew

TPS update (version 5.2) is released today.

Voila ! Trackman putting is working like a charm in PG. I made many putts for half an hour in practice putting course of PG.

Problem is solved. At the moment, Trackman has no problem for playing JNPG. Approved.

Andrew and Zmax, many thanks for your efforts.

Hey DOC,

I just joined OGT and JNPG with my Trackman 4. My Trackman firmware and TPS is to the latest (please correct me if this is wrong though): 1.6.3 and 5.2.10 as of today.

I am having the same issue with putting especially, requiring 3-4x more power to reach the distance (i.e. foir 12ft i need to putt like 36ft).

You said this got fixed but it's still same with me.

My setting is that:

1) Joined JNPG OGT

2) Bought/downloaded JNPG via Steam

3) Tried doing both ways (launching JNPG via TPS's Simulator option and just launching JNPG while Trackman is connected via Wifi). Looked like the former didn't work for putting so I'm only using latter.

4) Lastly, under JNPG setting, I used Wifi-Trackman 4. I couldn't find Stimp option anywhere in the game.

Can you tell me how you worked yours?

I own e6 and TGC beta. After 5.2 both work fairly well. But I did have issues at home where Trackman 4 would automatically trigger putt and chip shots (way more on putting). Trackman rep told me it could be a radio frequency issue and we've been digging to see when that happens but it was random. After 5.2 update we're still trying to see if this occurs.
