What clubs are you using as your baseline in the EA release?

I don't understand your question. Are talking about club # or club characteristics (brand)?

If you're talking about club #, you chose the clubs in you bag, up to 14, when you set up your player or you can just use the defaults that are shown with a 'check mark'.

If you are talking about characteristics, I really doubt that any Brand was used. Maybe Andrew or Mike will be along to answer specifically.

Yes I'm talking about brand I guess. They had to use something, get the numbers and shot data from clubs. I'm curious if they were tour bladed clubs, Mizuno's for instance, NIke...

The reason I'm asking is as golfer who owns good equipment I know what my clubs will do... I know my CG15's can be batted around like a curling broom and still drop my ball pretty well where I want it to go. I have a Odyssey iX putter I know what it does if I heal it for instance.. same for rest of the clubs, only one being the sldr I bought recently.. it seems to do what it wants. Point is, I'm hitting 64 wedges from 40yrd out, ball way back, and it seems if I'm out by like 2% on the snap that the ball is like 25 degrees gone. Seems a bit much, but maybe not.

So, I'm just wondering for instance what wedge characteristics did they use in the game?   I'm just trying to get a feel for the amount of miss-hit mess that happens. I know my mp-59's are not bad forgiveness-wise, but I also know if I get stupid  with them balls are going everywhere and it's a long round.

Just wondering what I'm using in the game...  Oh, and what is the ball as well? Sometimes it feels like a range ball...  hehehehe  :P

dedbuNNy, you are way above my pay grade. Like I indicated above, maybe Mike or Andrew will be around to answer your question. Sorry, I can't help.

AFAIK they use average pga pro club distances, not a specific brand. The distance given in-game, btw, indicates the carry of a golf shot, without the hops and rolls after the landing.

There is some ruminating in the distant background about introducing different club characteristics, like flexible or stiff shafts, bladed or offset club heads etc, to let players optimize their own, personal build, but I'm pretty sure these will not representing any established brands either.

Thanks for the information Kablammo. That explains why I found places at Willow Heath not even you knew existed...

Could the 5W and 3W club heads be adjusted?  Haven't used the 7W but the 5 and 3 seem the same size as the Driver head, or am I missing something?  Just a minor pet peeve.  Great start out of the gate Devs.

I think they will be, probably in conjunction with finalizing the avatar, currently a place holder. Club size was noted during testing.

There is a Tara King easter egg somewhere in there. Just keep spraying all your shots into the shrubs...

Well I would hope that down the road there will be licensed products. It would be nice to be able to buy, as a DLC for instance the MP-59's or Nike Covert's or Cleveland wedges or or...

Hell it would be very coo to be able to use the same clubs one uses in real life, or as close to as possible. That would be bonus.

Why not? But only if the club manufacturers pay PP bucketloads of money for product placement - and not the other way around, as happens to be standard practice. Okay with me, as long as it does not degenerate into a pay-2-win issue. That would be a huge no-no in these parts, I understand.

It might be neat to use different club but to me it's just a computer game and not real life so I don't get hung up on having a certain brand of clubs or balls in the game to use but I respect the people they do want or like having that option.

I think the dream may be to model various types of clubs, shafts and balls so as to replicate their real life characteristics within the game.
