Thanks for the lin to the updated course... I played it this afternoon and was very intrigued by the course. I was impressed enough by it to make it a point to play the real course sometime this coming week while I'm off. I could see the Piedmont signature in the topography, trees and bushes, but there's something very distinctive and appealing about the course layout. I'm impressed that it can play as long as it does and when I play it, I'm going to try to shame my regular playing companions to go Tournament tees!
Since I've never played the course, nor even ridden by it (shame on me, I know), I can't comment on how faithful it is to the original. I haven't played JNPG but twice since the update that took away the closer FOV, and I was a bit rusty. I had the greens set to normal, 10, and realistic, and even at that, I was having a problem with putts getting away from me. There are also some doglegs that sneak up on you pretty quick on this course. I hit through the dogleg three times in this round, but it was my own fault for not scouting the hole out before launching it.
Thanks for recreating this course... I'm fascinated to think I've got a golf course with that sort of mystique so close to me. I don't know why, but me and my pool of golfers I play with have ever seriously considered playing it I think we're going to be kicking ourselves once we do!
