Splines Splitting over Bulkheads

Best Answer Jimbobh , 25 April 2018 - 01:38 AM

Start here if you haven't already. (K11 Bulkhead 101 tutorial)

The Green spline might be too close to where you dug out. There has to be terrain under the Green spline if I remember correctly.

Anyone know what causes the green/Fairway spline to split when I use a bulkhead?

Note in last picture, I reloaded the terrain as it was before I dug it out and that issue is not there.

I was playing Merion tonight and noticed the same issue on Hole 11.

You have lowered the terrain under the green which has caused the green mesh problems pictured.

Try adding more of a buffer zone between the bulkhead wall and green spline to avoid this problem.

Great idea, that did the trick, I had dug out too far in.  Seems to work now, thanks.

Just make sure all your green work is done and everything is finished before deleting the terrain underneath.... then leave it alone and don’t build the splines anymore

I put the brush size on "1" to get around the wall and that did the trick.  Thanks for your suggestions.
