I had a design idea that would make the workflow interesting and fun, having no idea how to implement this method there was really only one man i could ask to find out if it was possible...take a bow DPR and thank you for a lease of life.  So i have been laying a few holes for the last day or two just to see what we could do, i'm going with a bit of a mixed desert theme, plenty of trees and grasses intermingled with desert areas.  If i get 6 holes laid by sunday that will be cool as im busy for the next 5 days so this will be a fun weekend project. Anyway here are a few early screens...

Looks fantastic. I can’t wait to play the finished article. There are some great desert courses waiting for this kind of treatment.

Looks great DoGgz, you might want to consider creating a custom cubemap for the water (instructions in the pp water folder) or at the least I can send you the one we used at Hidden Canyon.

My wife can attest to the fact that I'm terrible at finding things. I cannot find the custom cubemap instructions in the PP water folder.

This would be a nice little trick for the way I've done reflective windows on houses these days. Anyone have the custom cubemap instructions Mike is referencing?

Drag the PP_waterplane Prefabs found in the PP_water folder onto your scene for your lakes and ponds. These have default settings, textures and cubemaps which add a fake reflection to the water plane.

This default reflection will be unlikely to suit your course and so you may have to generate a new reflection cubemap.

To do this, first add a gameobject cube to your scene and move it to the position from where you want to create the cubebmap reflections. This should usually be positioned somwhere near your lake.

Use the dropdown menu Custom/renderskybox and in the 'render from position' dialogue drag the gameobject cube . Clicking 'render' will generate cubemap images from this location and place them in a folder in your project called 'Skyboxes'. You may need to refresh the project folder for the new textures to be imported. After you have done this you can either delete your gameobject cube or disable it in the inspector.

The waterplace prefabs have already had a Default cubemap added to them which can be changed by selecting the relevant cubemap from the PP_water folder and simply dragging the new textures created above into the relevant slots. The reflection on the water plan will now change to use your new cubemap.

With a little bit of experimentation with the position from where the cubemap is generated, you can achieve some very convincing reflections.

I was planning on trying to make cubemaps for the course am working on now for the reflective windows. But I haven't got around to trying it yet. But those are the instructions given in the PP Water folder.
