Hi

In unity, can a second terrain be added next to the primary terrain, and the planting set (with all settings, colors etc)from the first terrain be transferred to the second one?

Oh, I don't think so, but there may be a way

to do it externally in the projects folder, but I haven't

tried.

I think if you have another project with the planting set, you can just re-use that one.

I'm not near a computer for a few days but just wanted to know what happens if you click on the Terrain in the hierarchy, can you then choose to duplicate it?

Yes you can duplicate the terrain. But be careful...

On an old project I duplicated the terrain to create a second terrain with identical textures and planting set.

I changed the resolution and dimensions of the second terrain to save triangles (knowing it would flatten the second terrain but I planned to resculpt it anyway)

Problem was it flattened BOTH terrains! Ah!

I think because both terrains were using the same heightmap. Maybe if you copy the original terrain and change the name of the second terrain’s heightmap before changing any of the terrain settings you would prevent this from happening.
