Found this https://aerometrex.com.au/ Lidar data company but may be expensive. It also offers 3D modelling

For someone more technically minded than I understand

A report on Victoria's updated open data policy is due April.  That's when I'm hoping to find out if they're going to make lidar available.  if they don't I'm not in a position to pay nearly $400 per sq km, as much as I'd like to see more southern courses.

Did you ever get an update on this?

I finally have a new box so I'm slowly getting back in the game.

Was meant to come out April, then this week.  Wish it would arrive so I can look forward to a data release or forget about it.

'Hi Jonathan, currently Victorian LiDAR data isn’t openly available but projects underway will improve access in the future. A 10m Digital Elevation Model for Victoria is being packaged for delivery through ELVIS (https://elevation.fsdf.org.au/ ) by the end of this month.

There are two large LiDAR projects covering the middle and eastern half of Victoria that will be delivered under Creative Commons licensing. When the data is finalised in late 2020 or early 2021, these are likely to be made available through ELVIS, as well as our upcoming Victorian portal - DataShare. The new portal will streamline the delivery of DELWP’s spatial data to customers – both open datasets, and those with restrictive licensing conditions available for purchase. '

So we won't have anything until the end of the year.  Even then, there's no guarantee the new data covers the courses, and no guarantee it'll be made available.  Just about closes the issue as far as I go.

Some Victorian data is starting to appear.  Nothing on the Sandbelt yet.  Anyone who wants Ballarat as a project is in luck.
