This has been discussed a little at PGLS but I'll post here in case anyone else missed it.

Two nights ago I logged in to PG and noticed that there were no players showing in the lobby. A friend noticed that I was not visible as well. The Steam friends window worked as normal (I could see friends and chat), but nothing in lobby. I was also able to play the PGLS tournies as usual except for the fact that the chat feature in-game was disabled.

So far over at PGLS there are at least 3 people reporting the same problem. Anyone else?

Seems like Steam fixed the issue.  Working fine now.

Mine started 2 days ago, played fine early AM, then at lunchtime I had no Global/player listings. It's still the same today?

With an average of 20 people playing this game on any given day, perhaps its just likely that there is nobody in the lobby when you log in?

Dave, I don't have any colour numbers in my name.

Rob, I was playing with 3 friends, but the only way to join was through their name under friends. I have no "News" showing, no "Global", so no lobby. And, there were ALWAYS at least 15 people in lobby when I play.

I've verified files, reinstalled steam and PP, but still nothing shows up. Even my own avatar has no picture showing in game, but my friends see my motorcycle photo as normal.

Maybe check your firewall. I also remember you should open ports in your router / firewall for Steam.

Who cares...

Firewall has Steam allowed. I forget to say I don't have chat either.

Did you press F8 inside game and see if any error messages appear?

(Where the 2 ? are, is a symbol I've never seen before and I can't find on my keyboard)

The symbol is like a small , capitol J but the curve goes to the right and at the top, there is a small horizontal line on the left side.

A couple of months ago some of us had the same problem (no players showing in lobby, no in game chat etc.) and Mark, at PGLS, found a workaround solution until PP (or whoever is running the servers these days) fixed it on their end. When I looked at my F8 at the time it showed a clear error that the game was not able to connect to the chat server. I don't see that error on what you posted above. Perhaps you can ask Mark to have a look. Good luck.

perc mentioned servers, i would say by the amount of time it is taking the courses to load

as it seems slower than it has ever been maybe it is time for someone to reboot the server

be it the guys at PP or the fellows at Tracman or whoever is in control of it nowdays.

OK, so with a lot of Mark's help (PGLS owner) we found the cause of the problem. I have a new PC which came with MSI software. One of the included programmes is Lan manager. As soon as Mark turned it off, hey presto, all sorted.
