A lot of computing power directed at a very small crowd.

Well, all I can say is good for the golfers who like VG... I would rather be out on a real course. However, it would be amazing if something like this got released for the PC.

Oh my, I am a little bit speechless at the obvious upgrade in graphics that has occurred. This is what PG would look like now had the franchise been continued. Very sad indeed that it did not happen.
I play EA's PGA Tour 2023 because the courses are so realistic looking. I play single mode only and just enjoy rounds of golf on the provided courses but would switch back to a PG2 in a heartbeat if it were to be resurrected. Frankly, I think Trackman is missing out on a nice steady stream of income by not making this available on the PC. It's a niche market sure, but then so is the Trackman virtual golf industry. If they could just port the "game" to the PC it would be astounding.
Thanks for sharing this update. It's amazing!

I've never understood it either..I remember Mike posting here once that making a PC game would be a cinch after getting all of the initial next gen framework in place. It's frustrating for sure, but oh well. Screen shots do look fantastic.

I am an avid golfer - the real game, and here is my opinion. A Trackman simulator costs around $25,000 USD (I think) and as I live in Canada, it would be about $35,000 CAD. If I play courses with a green fee of $100 that means I could play 350 rounds. Our golf season here is at best 6 months. I play about 40 rounds a season so that would be about 9 years of green fees. I'll take the real game over a simulator any day.
The graphics look great on a computer monitor but not as good on the large screen that you hit in to on a simulator. Simulators are good as launch monitors but they still don't simulate the short game such as chips, pitches, bunker shots and putting very well.
I don't understand why TM doesn't release a updated version of PG with the course graphics in VG3. PG has more features than EA Sports Golf and RTSM is still the best mouse control method of any PC golf game. They could add a controller option. Having a PC version of VG3 will not impact their simulator sales as they are two completely different markets. It would also be another revenue source for them.
EA Sports Golf has not had an update in months so maybe EA will be abandoning any further development.
RTSM - Pro

They "Rory'd it", again
Key staff members left for 2k quite a while ago apparently
Who knows what that could mean for a future 2K "Tiger" game I guess
Still, none of it touches PG
I'd kill for a PC version of VG3

I think the dream of an updated PG or a PC version of VG3 died long ago when the community (myself included) balked at the idea of an annual or monthly fee to play the game. Since Mike/Andrew 'lost that battle', I don't think they will ever revisit it. Unless Mike/Andrew leave Trackman, only then might someone else be open to a computer golf game. To that end, I wonder what the monthly/annual fee might be to gain access to a computer version of the game? Perhaps $20 to $50/month? I wonder how that would go over with the few community members still around and if it would appeal to potential new members for online golf. My guess is it just wouldn't be sustainable.

I just wish they'd "offer it"
It would cost them basically nothing to add-in / keep controller/mouse support
As for those of us here balking at it in the past.. we are nothing and that whole thing was now 6 years ago also
There's a whole wide world of potential out there if thinking of the markets beyond the general video gamer
I wouldn't worry about the cross shopper from something like the EA gamer, who seems to like shooting -24 every round

I'd love to see them make some type of offer as well! But a while ago I decided to stop hoping that something more might come from PG to avoid disappointment. I don't disagree with you at all, Buck, and while I wish it to come true, I can't even let myself think that any furture update or new game will come. If it does from Trackman (or even Perfect Parallel - or does that company no longer exist?!), I'll be pleasantly surprised and much more inclined to some type of subscription licence, if that is what's offered.

I think the whole "license" thing died down once Trackman approached Mike/Andrew and gave them an offer they couldn't refuse. They weren't making the money from PG alone, but they did have other 'golf' services they offered and maybe that wasn't lucrative either... so, take the offer from Trackman, they got jobs and living their dream. Overall, I agree with everyone, why not make a version for PC? I think PG or whatever name they would give it, would be more popular than ever! These newer golf games are obviously not making the cut! (no pun intended)...

I wouldn't "kill" for it, but I would pay a reasonable monthly or annual subscription fee. Key word is reasonable. $10 a month or a $99 up front annual price would be sustainable for a great golf game with updates and new courses. I would love it....

Virtual Golf 3 looks superb but it’s never going to be offered as a PC game. Mike told a few ‘porkies’ before he abandoned Perfect Golf and its loyal followers, and I doubt very much that he even reads the latest posts on this ‘forum’, let alone reply to them.
I believe the latest PGA Tour Golf 2K25 will be announced very soon and I hope very much it will still have the course designer, as that’s what really interests me, as it did on PG.
I did play PG a few days ago for the first time in three years, and it still looks pretty good but it’s too much of a pain to learn the un-user friendly course designer all over again.

Loyal followers? There was 16 in the lobby last night me being one of them ,still playing and loving the game.

Mike's tutorials are still here..go for it man. I got the bug recently and am currently building a course. 1 last hole to spine out. It comes back to you fairly quicky.

I was talking about the users when the game was still being developed but I think you knew what I meant!

I think I’ll stick with PGA 2K23 until 2K25 is released.
