Hi everyone, first of I want to say how well this game is running on my machine.  I think the feel and physics are just right.  I came from the links background and this is the only step forward for me I feel, Perfect Golf.  I have waited for 2 years for this moment to arrive and to actually be able to play this already great golf sim.  I will now continue to the points I would like to make.

1. I don't really care for the comparisons and bickering between TGC and PG, just decide which you prefer and go with it, its down to personal preference. But my concern is that a lot of requests are coming from this in the form of changing the graphics to more vibrant and saturated visuals.  Why Concern? PG gives me the realistic feel of being out there with its approach to the style of graphics as it is and I don't want to see it oversaturated with vivid colours which would in my opinion make the sim look more towards an arcade feel.  I know the visuals of PG in some areas need a little tidying and work but I hope Mike and the devs don't take on this vibrant unrealistic look due to demand.  I think the feel is perfect as it is and like I said with a little work here and there and maybe a little brightening up in some areas would be great.

2. The physics and style of play is definitely good old links golf sim styled.  I love it.  Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed having a game on TW and the other arcade styled golf games in the past but Links was always the one that really got me hooked.  This is the feel I am getting from PG all over again.  I suppose in a nut shell is that there are already offerings of the arcade style versions of golf, but PG for me is the perfect sim side of the golfing game world.  The amount of people that have posted they didn't like PG at first until they had got use to the more realistic styled gameplay, have grown to like/love it the more they played it.  That's why I hope it doesn't change in this department because for me the gameplay isn't broke so don't fix it.

3. Finally I know this game has its bugs at the moment and is missing features (its EA of course), and there has been some great requests that I have read and I know Andrew has noted a lot of them, which is great. I have found a few bugs and things I would like adding but they have already been noted.  I really am excited about the future of this game.

PP have done an amazing job so far, and I know there working hard on future updates, features, courses and so on.  Exciting times ahead and I'm here for the ride.  Great work Mike and all at PP ;).

Cheers

Jimmy

WHAM !!!!

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

Some of the earlier TGC themes could be considered oversaturated.  But the latest themes, Boreal and Countryside, definitely not.  But I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Jimmy, Great post.

During 'alpha' testing (pre EA) one of the main, if not the main objective, that Andrew and Mike stressed was 'realism'. The objective is to build in as much 'realism' as possible given the limitation of resources and technology. You can rest easy about an 'arcade' factor appearing in this game. I firmly believe that it will never happen.

People may not always agree on the definition of 'realism', but that is the objective, trust me.

WHAM !!!! LOL. I suppose I deserved that a little bit but seriously, I was merely comparing to links because of the realistic character of that particular game, simulation. Its quite clear where the future lies between Links and PG. Decision made instantly ;). I couldn't fully compare the two because PG already is far superior. No comparison to be had.

I know that is the goal and its in good hands ;).  Thanks for the reply Richard.  PG has a great feel to it and the realistic graphics approach is working in my opinion, even in these early days.
