Due to the fact that TW08 will only play in Full Screen mode I cannot make a side-by-side comparison of both games using screen capture software.  You'll see that both games are edited to eliminate shot setup to speed the video along. I did not add sound effects to the final video production. The sounds you hear are inherent in the games audio options. Enjoy the show.  Your comments will be appreciated by the developers of PG.

Note: PG15 was played on hole #10 at Florida Glades.  TW08 was played on hole #10 at Sawgrass. Both games were set to high resolution at 1280 x 720 pixels. I use dual LCD monitors which do not have 1900 x 1024 capability. However, the video quality is good.

Don't really like the trees, and people on TW, but I have to say the grass textures are good and the overall hue of it seems right.

Really interesting to see both games.

PG looks way better to me.

You reminded me that having spectators on the course never really did work very well.

I don't like the zombies either.  However, they can be removed with a patch from coursedownloads.com. I just wanted to have all features working in both games for a comprehensive comparison.

Patches are available from coursedownloads.com that will tweak TW08 to remove the spectators but also decrease the font size of the yardage that displays in the middle of the screen.

This is a repeat of a post I made early on. As you can see there are no spectators.

Makes me see why I never continued with TW. Way too cartoony for my tastes.

I would eventually like to see PP go to some type of 3D grass for the rough but I'm sorry, I hope it doesn't look anything like TW2008's grass. To me there is nothing realistic about the way it looks. That's as much as I'm going to beat that dead horse.

Its too bad you didn't show the shot set up and how the number keys cameras work. That plus how to navigate around on the overhead to get a view of the terrain. Those are the features that were good about TW08 and yes the grass is excessive in color the detail that easily shows whether its ankle deep or knee deep plus how the ball reacts in the rough is better then what PP has now. One or two hops and the ball stops in TW while on here the ball goes way way too far often rolling 10 yards or more before stopping.

Like I say I don't want this to be a  new version of TW08 or a new version of Links, rather I would like the features that were good in these games implimented. Both Links and TW has some good features and to ignore them just because you think the game looks cartoonie or you think the colors are too vibrant is bascially cutting your nose off to spite your face. Look past the negatives of each game and focus on what they did right. Then take those things and make them even better if possible. That way you get the best of TW and the best of Links and the best of what PP has come up with. Personally I like the dynamic weather and the sky features that PP has come up with and I know they will come up with lots of other good features. I hope to see the best of the best in PP that way it will help ensure that the game lasts even longer then either TW08 or Links and that is what I hope we all want.

Is that dude a bit heavy in the legs? I've got a thing about avatars legs. Or is it his daks? Big daks is so 90s or 80s. I don't know. And he carried on like a bit of a dill too.

Lol you could make your character fat or thin, tall or short Black, White, Asian   or whatever combination you wanted. As for shot reactions yes they were stupid but they could be turned off and most online gamers normally did have them turned off not only because they were dumb but the game played faster without them.  As for the clothes you have to remember the game is a bit old but the amount of different shirts, sweathers, pants shoes, hats, etc was pretty big, basically you could have a different outfit everyday and it would have taken quite a long time before you needed to do laundry. :)

sigh not quite the point I was trying to make  . My point was both links and TW had some good features that could make PP even better. Why not use them?

would say that TW08 above is looking about as rough as it can get. I still play the occasional round at 2560*1480, with 8x AA and none of the graphical nonsense like yards etc and it looks good compared to most cyber games but it is 7 years old so I would seriously hope the PP (and it does) knocks its socks off

One of the things not mentioned and I think it is with Tiger Woods 2008 is that AFTER each shot there is this graphic that flashes 3 times telling you about your next shot and is very annoying and imo makes the game unplayable it is to aggravating. What is shown to in the video is the cheezy yardage real time update - of course it can show this because the ball mechanics suck and TW 2008 knows where the ball is going before hand.

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

Never seen that  flashing graphic thing you mentioned  in Tw08, You have the wrong game. If you don't like the game fine. Not sure what game you were playing but it wasn't Tw08 as far as telling you about your next shot. Play it in expert mode with no club yardage indicators, no grid or bli no lie indicators like what percentage of power or spin and then tell me how "cheesy " it is. I'm not sure why you feel you need to knock the game though. I get a lot of folks like links and that is fine I preferred Tw but I don't  put Links down by saying things like it was cheesy or whatever.
