Salut!

I also think that english as one of the most spoken languages should be #1. Even if the french ppl. think their language is the #1 or 2 (j/k)
I wouldn't even need a german version.
Who cares...

fungolfer (and this is no personal attack, you are a fun guy and apparently a cute little rodent), I would never ever, ever use the german golf words, even when speaking german and while playing golf with germans in the middle of the most german part of Germany! A fairway is a fairway, not "die Spielbahn". A par must not, not ever, be referred to as "die Schlagzahl", a green is not "das Grün", rough is not "das Rauhe", and so on.. These time honored words are so strong that they must elude translation.
I also believe that yardages should be expressed in yards, not meters - even if playing golf in the very center of the metric-system-using-world. Our fantastic metric system is of course vastly superior to any other outdated ones still in use in the overseas colonies (joking, a bit... ), but golf must played and expressed in yards, feet and inches nevertheless. And if you think I enjoy posting comments of little consequence here, well, I'd rather be working with the CourseForge right now, but for some reason I can't.
Oh, and btw: It's called football, not soccer!
Also, I'd like to bid a good day to our friends from the NSA. Doing a great job protecting us, guys!

No worries, I wouldn't even think about a personal attack.
You are right on. Only "das Grün" (the green) would count for me, anything else would be nonsens
Who cares...
