I entitle this short verse 'impact'...
Can you remember your daddy, I can - my daddy was ever so patient, he used to let me be a most rebellious child, he let me throw mud pies at morris and charge up the street with an axe in my hand, but when my daddy beckoned me over for a quiet word - you can believe me I never heard anyone so clear in my mind, it shone through with a deep understanding, my private bits used to contract in fear of what he was going to decide - and I knew, oh I knew - not a single word more from you deena.
As much as I have deviated from a standard life, mocked the system and gone on my own path to a possible and most likely catastrophic finale, one thing has always shone through - when the man does speak, you do comply with his intention - and not a single word more shall pass thy lip.
It had a huge impact upon me.
