has anyone tried it and does it give good results when combined with CF ?

I bought it anyway and think it's very good although I believe Terrain Forge will do the same job.
WC uses Bing maps so you'll need to register.

I used WC and brought in a course to unity. I don't have course forge but i would assume you could use WC if it takes a while to develop the terrain forge. I did notice that when you import a course from WC that the height map resolution is very low. sometimes only around 128 to 256. When you bump up the resolution you get a terrain with a bunch of steps in it. I was able to use the smooth tool in unity to smooth out the steps but it was kinda a pain. The detail of the terrain that WC brings in isn't great but if you don't mind doing some hand shaping then the WC is a good Starting Point.

I think the 'steps' in the terrain are only caused where the Bing maps resolution is low. I had the same problem when I tried to create a course close to my home in the U.K., although there was a CF update later which seemed to have solved this issue. I haven't used it in a few months so I'm not sure what it is like now.
I believe that U.S.A. map resolutions are higher, which should prevent stepping of the terrain.

The course i uploaded was in the U.S. Not sure why it steps but hopefully there is a solution.

You'll get stepping if you let WorldComposer do the heightmap resolution upsizing to the 2049 resolution PG courses typically use. WC doesn't smoothly interpolate between height samples when upsizing, it duplicates.
Instead let WC create the 128/256 resolution heightmap and resize it to 2049 in Photoshop/GIMP/... selecting the bicubic interpolation method--that will smooth things out.

although it gives you a great overhead/shaded image, as you said the heightmap is not very good, unlike the program you use it gives 4 terrains
x0_y0
x1_y0
x0_y1
x1_y1
you also get 4 overhead textures, and in my case the terrain width and length is 744, is that o.k, seems a bit small to me ? of course being new to this not sure whats right and whats wrong.
