Well, less than 2 weeks after receiving CourseForge with MJ's content package I have pretty much completed my first course...I present Ayot Lakes Golf Club a fictional but hopefully realistic creation.

18 holes are fully playable and just shot a 75 with no aids...so I reckon there's a good mix of holes.

Here are some images of the course...I hope to share it soon...if I'm allowed...not sure how that works...will message MJ about that...anyways...

Thanks Kimmer! Once this is tidied up - need to do camera fly-bys and a little more texturing around the perimeter of the course - next I will try to get to grips with using World Composer and see how that integrates with CF so I can do my favourite local course Mill Green. But I need a few more tree options...like Oaks, Beech and also Holly and I need a Sewage plant building lol.

Course is looking splendid Robbie!  Good to know that a course like this with great attention to detail can be made so quickly.

Thank you. I messed about with unity before I got CF and mostly got frustrated at all the things I couldn't do. CourseForge is amazing as long as you have the pre-made assets. I can't even begin to imagine how Kablammo managed to make Willow Heath from scratch without the assets MJ provided the new testers.

Plants are there under Course/Grass/Textures in the project pane. When you have terrain selected go to the Details icon (looks like 3 flowers next to the trees) and a box underneath will have maybe 3 grass textures in it. Beneath that box is the Edit Details button. Push that and then Add Grass Texture. A box will pop up. Drag one of the 28 grasses or flowers provided (from the project pane) into the Detail Texture slot where it says None (texture 2D) and click the little dropper icons to turn the healthy and dry colour grey. Then click Add and your new grass/flower texture will appear in the Details box ready for you to plant.

The path texture is under Course/textures and is called Burnsconcrete. You add it by dragging it into the box that pops up when you click Edit Textures and then Add Texture and drop it into the top left of the boxes. I reduce the x and y size to 7 (because I looked at Mikes textures and that was how they were set). There are some other textures too.

The buildings and other props I downloaded from the asset store. If you go to Window and look down the list you will find the Asset store. Here there are some freebies. I did pay about £4 for a big pack containing lots of benches/fences/bins/lampposts/patio tables.

Warning...the asset store is addictive and the temptation to spend is strong! Resisting the urge to buy a big pack of houses for around £10. Lol.

Course really looks nice. Two questions tho (maybe dumb)
Did you play it on Course Forge or Steam.
If either one I wonder if devs can somehow port/convert PG to play these courses on desktop without being dependent on Steam. Just use IP or game ranger like Links? Don't require an answer just thinking out loud I guess.

Thanks for all the nice comments. :)

You place the course file in the PG course folder (where the other courses are) and launch the game as normal. You can't play from within CF. You can whizz the camera around the course and look at different views as much as you like in CF and it gives you a good enough idea before you build the course file. (Takes about 5mins for my pc to process the build each time)

I built the course file after I had made every hole...because I was excited to try my creations...and it is a simple matter of replacing the old file with the new one. But I might not always do that as I get more experienced.

Looks very nice, but the back of that green in the second picture is ridiculously unrealistic!

Looks almost as good as Harold's avatar!

On a more serious note - very, very nice looking course from the pictures!  This gives me hope that CF will enable some talented people to put out some very good, fun, playable courses!
