I read somewhere on these forums that the first controller based swing is being developed for the NSTV.

Will this be for a native android game or something streamed over our home networks via GeForce Gamestream?

Can someone explain to a mildly illiterate computer user what Nvidia Shield TV is and how this affects playing on a PC? Thanks!

Blueblood,

The Shield will be hooked up to your home pc and Steam will stream the game thru the shield to either another pc or a mobile device in your home network. I also heard they are working on the ability to VPN into your home network and play the game on your mobile device

Actually not quite how this is going to work, but even I am not 100% sure....  You fire up the shield and purchase PG in the Google Play store and it will downlaod the game to your shield.

You can either play games directly on it (purchased through the Google store as Andrew mentioned) or stream them from your PC with GEForce equipped graphics cards.

I didn't realize the Shield TV had the horsepower to run something like PG natively - Very intriguing

It's also the first real product on the market to easily handle 4K video streaming.

Also - if a controller swing is implemented for the PC version of this game then you could easily stream it (via Steam or via Nvidie's GEForce game streaming technology) to your living room TV and play comfortably from the couch.

I've been dabbling with Nvidia's products for a while now - having bought both the Shield Portable and the Shield Tablet and they both work pretty darn well.  I'm interested in the NSTV because I can set it inside my electronics cabinet and connect it via ethernet to my network.  Should work very, very well for game streaming.

Yea - I'm not sure that it actually DOES have the horsepower to play PG as we know it today on the PC.  But maybe if they make a slightly watered down version for Android it could run quite well.  Most Android games don't do much for me - it's like playing older Xbox 360 games.  And once you've seen how beautiful PG can look on a PC it's very hard to rationalize playing a watered down version of it.

I think streaming it from your main PC will be where the fun comes in.  You and I have both down this on laptops so we know that it works pretty darn well.

Yeah - I was just away from home for a couple weeks and played PG *very* watered down on a MacBook Pro - It was "ok" - But nowhere near the bliss of my home PC gaming setup (31" of 4k heaven!)
