I really enjoyed elements of TGC but PG offers me something closer to the way I play golf in real life. Don't want to get off topic here though as I presume the OP is after graphical comparison comments and for me some things are good and somethings I don't like quite as much. The colour seems too vibrant in places (if that's a thing!) but I do quite like the water and the odd small creature (no crocodiles - I'm in the UK) wouldn't go amiss in PG to add to the immersion (bird, squirrel maybe even a rabbit
I like both games, prefer PG now but hats off to the TGC guys for creating something that certainly works for plenty of people just not me right now.

I didn't know they'd added in "Farm Simulator" to TGC

This image shows everything wrong with TGC. Since it's "close your eyes easy" to hit it straight and 100% all over the place, course designs start looking like "Adventure Land" meets "Tree Forest World" at Disneyland...
...which is hilarious, because the TGC crowd would have you believe that game is a "simulation" and they all ridicule the TW/Rory series for the fantasy elements....Very rich considering most of the TGC courses all go the fantasy direction simply to attempt to offer some actual challenge to the game.

Those W3 screenshots are absolutely stunning.. those would make for nice golf courses too! Hard to play in the snow, I know, but you get the idea! haha

Agreed - Really wish that dev team had even a passing interest in trying to make the game *actually* more simulation oriented (optionally) as I'd like to be able to enjoy it - Just can't....too easy and simplistic, especially compared to PG.

Well I do not know why some people feel the need to put down the way TGC screen shots look. The screen shots are from courses I made on purpose with the GNDC in TGC.I do not have one for PG.I know which game I play more.
Anyway I turned on PG and took some screens.

@Gerard: I can't speak for others, but I was really talking about TGC gameplay, not the "look" or anything.

I for one like both games TGC and PG. TGC is not real easy to play for me - with all aids I shoot around avg 71-72. I like the looks of some of the courses and there are some great designers making some beautiful courses. Some of the themes are not the best looking to me as some of Gerards pictures show. Looks like Delta theme - one I never liked from beginning. Still over all to me it plays great and looks great. PG also is looking better and playing better all the time and I am sure once CF is available to all there will be some great courses designed - by some great designers. Then too if some of the Links course can be moved to this game - wow. Each has his preference - me - I Iike both and enjoy both. I do not knock one or the other. Whatever you play enjoy!!

Screenshots of TGC look good Gerard, but where there higher res images than the 1280x720 posted. Small images always make things look better.

It's a shame TGC can't work on that blending (lack of it) - Just "feels" a touch Mario Golf to me when I see those fairway/rough/green transitions...always has.
Bunkers are also desperately in need of edges/blending work.

IT is only a video game, play what ya like.I am not going to argue with you.
LOL all I can say I played TGC 900 Hours.Played PG 8 Hours.

No trouble at all.
I did put maybe a little too much DOF on the game in the GNDC when taking the screen shots.

There's no need to argue at all, just sharing thoughts that I've seen a lot.
Most of the people on the TGC forum agree the bunkers need a complete re-think and better texture blending would be really welcome.
