Here's a few screens from my first course using CF.

It's far from completion with only 11 holes laid out so far, and minimal planting, but I thought that I'd show you some early pics anyway...

Minimal planting is not always a bad thing.  ;)

I love the look so far.

I agree! - somehow has a nice feel to it already.

Agree with Acrilix and Catflap.

Can almost feel the wind in your face in the pics of Holes 10 and 11, lol.

I love that look and think planting is exceptional. Only spoke with Highfade the other day about vegetation planting briefly, as I feel sometimes more vegetation is needed. Shadowlands vs others, which looks better... but one main concern is how much increase to filesize is there, and performance needed? Have you, or are you keeping a count on planting numbers (variations used)?

Thanks guys.  I intend to keep the planting pretty sparse, as I'm aiming for a 'links' feel to the course.

Ian, I am not keeping count...  Is this something that I should be aware of?

Gary, in case you missed it, you should stay within a tri count of 3 Mio (info can be called up under Stats in the game view of Unity). Judging from what I see, you're not in any danger so far. Nice work...

This is the par three, 3rd.  The pin is tucked away to the left of the green partially hidden by the mounds.

Thanks for the comments guys :-)

Here's a couple more:

This is the approach to the par 4, fourth.  The cross hills are right on the driving distance, leaving you with the decision whether to hit a fairway wood/iron leaving a longer shot in to an elevated green or hit driver over the cross hills to the right where the fairway drops a little leaving a shorter but steeper shot into the green.  There are no bunkers on this hole.

newwells_5.jpg

This is the tee short on the long par 4, fifth, with the 6th fairway coming back towards you on the left.  This is the most difficult drive on the course so far.  If you miss the fairway from the tee you are left with a 200+ yard approach into a narrow green with a run off to the right and a bunker front left.

Really looking nice.  Those grasses leave me with the feeling that the course is located on the North American prairie even though I know you're in the UK and leaning towards a links feel.  This course has a "vibe" to it already.   :D

Last one for the evening.  The elevations are not at all complete on this one (the fairway is still flat!) but I wanted to show it as I'm excited by the presence of the sea :)  The coastline will feature heavily along the Well's closing holes.

G,

At first glance, it reminds a little of the 1st hole (Front Course) at Nefyn & District GC in Wales.
