I know I have read to use 1400-2000 size and something about leaving 250 yards around course for games rendering. the main thing I would like to know about is the other resolution settings that are used and the height setting.
Does setting the terrain height matter at all?
As far as these settings what are the settings you would recommend?
Heightmap resolution
Detail resolution
Detail resolution per patch
Control texture resolution
Base texture resolution
I really don't know exactly how they effect the terrain map when using them with the game. I just wondered what are the best settings to use to get the best results.
I am basically going to be constructing the terrain map from scratch. I have used JN4/5 and TW06 a lot making courses and those have a built in terrain map editor. I see the tools they have here let you lay out the basic out lines of the course fairways bunkers greens etc...would most of the course texture colors other than those be from with the unity terrain map?
Sorry for all questions....I just want to get started making a couple of course terrain maps so when I get the CF tools I'll have something to work with.
