Uninstalling Steam

If I uninstall Steam and reinstall will I have re download all my games? That's about all I have not tried to be able to play PG since the last update.

do it from your control panal but leave your games in there and i don't think you have to redownload them the info and files will still be on your HD. better wait for a few more answers i have had to uninstall a few times but i dont think i had to redownload the games been a while.

You need to back up your game files in your steam apps folder. The default path is Local Disk (C:) / Program Files (x86) / Steam / steamapps / common.

back the games in this folder up.

Once you have uninstalled then reinstalled Steam move contents back, then you only have to install your  games not re download.

just wondering what you ended up doing to reinstall steam without having to redownload your games?
