Though i would kick this Topic off so we can  share and help each other in designing courses.

Heres a couple of links just to get it started

This site you select a course, select a hole then move the way point to see the yardages

Just gives you an idea thats all

http://www.golfcourselayouts.co.za/

Next one has some videos and course designers

http://geekedongolf....n-tv-and-video/

Top Courses

https://course.blueg...t/top/index.htm

Maybe someone can recommend some books as well and other resources that would help

Also  any input on hole layouts how you go about your design process

I usually start out  with the ruler first , measure out where  3w lands and the driver  then meqsure to the green

Decide to go left or right

Uphill or down hill

Start in the middle of the plot , lay down first hole then go from there

I get some ideas from google images on golf courses to give me some ideas as well as i usually

struggle to get ideas and need some help as it doesnt come easy for me

Thanks

Mike recommends this Golf Course Architecture read.

I'm just starting it, but it's chock full of design strategies.

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.
