After generating colliders in Unity for my recently created wall, I noticed a significant slowdown.  Upon checking said wall in my 3d designer, I discovered that it contained over 30k polygons!!!  I think this was down to me tinkering with it to try and achieve a bumpy surface. Suffice to say that I have rebuilt it and it now contains just 24...

 

Check your models!!! You have been warned ;)

Thanks for the heads up. Also, go for a triangulated mesh instead of a quadrangular one - Unity doubles the count for them because they prefer triangles. Low-poly prefabs it is!
