I know that Terrain Forge is supposed to take care of this, but how have those of you doing RCRs been getting your photos and elevation data into Unity? I have been waiting to do an RCR for a while now, this one in particular.

I can have a go at getting the data. I use earthexplorer and Globalmapper to extract data. Unfortunately my last few attempts for others have failed.

Do you think you could give it a try? The best resolution I can find is 1 arc-second, which isn't all that bad, but I'd hope for something closer to Ikonos-grade.

Do you still need the data? I have 1/9 arc second lidar dataset. It is about 3m resolution which is pretty good.

Adam,

Unfortunately there is no lidar available in this area so I will not be able to help you with this.

Apologies

See attached TIFF for the course.

It is still georeferenced. If you bring it into photoshop and change it to 16bit it will work but will lose its coordinates.

I hate to say this but... I don't have access to photoshop anymore, since I'm not in school this year. Otherwise I'd be all over that. Do you think you could obtain both a picture file and a .raw? I played that course probably 20 times this last summer, so I know most of the bunker shaping quite well.

EDIT: I'm trying a free trial. I'm just very unfamiliar with photoshop.

I have added the 16bit raw file. There is high res imagery on earth explorer but it is too much data for me to handle. The corner coords for the file is (NW corner) N 39.6502, W -76.6279 & (SE corner) N 39.6067, W -76.5844. It is a a 4824.8m X&Y, Z is 121m.

I am thinking of using two different images from the high-res orthoimagery to overlay the course. Loading the heightmap in Unity is pushing my 4800MQ processor to its limits.

Just wondering, is there a way to crop the file without losing the georeferencing? Or just make a smaller box to start? How did you obtain the size of the square? 4824.8m X&Y is enormous, and I know that in the end only a small portion of it will be used. Also, that way Z could be lowered a bit too.
