Hi,

I have watched multiple videos on how to import my heightmaps into Unity but the data never completely covers all of the terrain.

Am I right in thinking that I set my terrain size in Unity to the size of my heightmap (it is 2386x2386)?

It comes out like this..

Actually, forget that. i have it. I am adding my aerial photo over the terrain but it appears Unity is flipping my terrain around. Is there a certain way I should flip the raw file so that is actually comes in the way it should?

Yes, always flip your raw file vertically - the areal texture is projected from the top down, the height map "pushes" the terrain from the bottom up.

Caution: In Unity, height map raws need to be  - for whatever idiotic reason - of a (power of 2) +1 resolution: That gives you a choice of 125, 257, 513, 1025, 2049 or 4087 raw sizes. The recommended raw resolution for course forge is 2049, make sure that your raw is a perfect square of 2049 by 2049 pixels.

The actual terrain size in Unity world units aka meters can be anything, but has to be a perfect square as well.

I think I got it. Which color ends up being the highest elevation, white or black?

White I believe.

Does anyone want my data for Shinnecock Hills? I have the Unity project with 1m heightmap and an aerial map aligned. I don't feel like I'll ever do anything with it because CF hasn't been released.

How did you align your aerial map with the course? Greystone is a course I can play frequently and make sure that I shape everything the way it's supposed to be.
