Careful, you got the courses backwards. Caves Valley is a real course, and imo should be in the running to host the AT&T National in the near future. Some very good points on the cloned tree and ball washer. Real courses will likely always be better on PP than TGC, and with terrain forge we will likely end up with hundreds of terrific real-life layouts to play in PP.

Tbh I haven't really noticed the cloned tree problem, just that there's basically way too many pine trees...not all alpine trees should be pines! But this would involve lots of careful planting, costing precious time in the race to put out courses as fast as possible. For PP I'm sure we will have some good starter layouts, most likely the handful that have already been completed, and they won't be dreadful  like knoll down is.

Problem is, especially on ALPINE theme, is that the GNCD just plants the same tree over and over and you end up with a clone-tastic layout.

Yeah, that's one of the big things that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.  Part of what makes the courses look so generic in the videos I've seen.  I have no interest in TGC and will happily wait for the PG early release.

On a better note, some of the layouts that have been springing up on TGC have been keeping the drive to create my own courses for PP alive...

AbsoluteNexus the video maker in all honesty I think is being duped , I know this from watching a video he did and what he said about a Real course, he did not have a clue.

Just watch the video clip of Caves Valley.

When the tee shot off the 1st hole is in flight, look at all the pine trees lining the hole, they all look identical. CLONES.

Not the fault of the designer, just how the GNCD auto-populates trees in the ALPINE theme.

OMG The video is CRAWFORD MINES!!! Caves Valley is a legendary Tom Fazio designed private course in the Baltimore suburbs.

Sorry but I gotta stand up for that fantastic real course called Caves Valley. People who are invited to play that course tell me that they literally drop everything and spend the day playing there.

I do see what you mean about the trees. Especially the dense stuff behind the first green. It doesn't bother me that much, though, because my eyes generally focus more on the golf hole itself. Of course it would be better without cloned trees.

P.S. Caves Valley hole 9 http://www.cavesvall...av=1&ID=2822389

Am I the only one who thinks those ball physics seem off?  Ball reacts to the ground in a heavy/weighted fashion for lack of a better description.

Course in video above does look quite nice.  Enjoyed that walk through.

The ball physics in TGC are not quite right, particularly after the ball lands. IMO Tiger Woods PGA 13 had much better ball physics overall, with the exception of the insta-stick bunkers and "brick" leaves.

Easy now, Data. This thread was created to revel in the bad things they might have to say about us, in amused aloofness, and not for us to fling any dung back at them... That would be a rather poor and sad thing to do, imo. Whoever is enjoying TGC is most welcome to it.

Yes you are right Kablammo11,  the thing is though I cannot stand to see people being fooled by a few selfish people,

I will do my own site and reveal all I know on it.

I hope PP is sooner than later good luck with all.
