Equating a boys night out or a girls night out to a club that excludes women is a gross over simplification.

My thought exactly

And besides that - Who goes on "boys night" to be with "only other men"?

Nobody I know...

"Boys night" is usually out at bars/clubs/events, etc....with loads of women around.

It's time to be *with* certain guys, but not with "only guys".

I see nothing wrong or discriminatory with a bunch of guys getting together for male only companionship.

Then play with a foursome of only guys...

Or do the usual "guys time" in the male locker room/steam room/hot tub area

Or go gather in the bar

There's simply no good reason to have the entire club be "men only".

Not in my mind. Both all individuals should have the right to associate with whom they desire regardless of sex, race, religion, etc. Having government dictate who and how one can socialize with is a infringement of personal freedom.

Things have gotten so out of hand in the discriminatory area that we know have people able to use restrooms based on how they feel about their sexuality on any particular day. That, to me, is much more disconcerting, than whether one sex or the other have an exclusive club or organization. I still believe in individual rights, sorry.

Pappy, bite your tongue! With political correctness running amok these (last) days, don't want to say anything that that might be misconstrued as bigoted and hateful.(Am agreeing with Richard, that our PC mindset is putting little girls in danger)

Nothing is misconstrued.  You guys are spelling it out quite clearly.

I respectfully, and strongly disagree.

Your very statement is a contradiction.  So what happens when a woman wants to  associate with men at Muirfield?  She can't.  So suddenly it's not her right to associate with whom she desires because the members have told her she's not welcome.

Except in those cases where the membership want it that way. You personal opinion, in that case, is irrelevant. All I'm trying to say is that people's' right to associate with those they want, in an environment they want, (i.e. private club) should be be infringed upon. I one does not want to be part of it, just don't join the club.

Ok...But expect to get yanked as a Tour or Tournament stop.

If you want to live in the past as a club - Go for it.

Just don't expect to be part of the modern world of golf.

A wise choice on this issue I'd say

I guess I have to ask, why would she want to associate with those that don't want to associate with her? When as the last time the 'Eastern Star' women welcomed a man into their organization. When was the last time the 'Masons' was headed by a women. I just don't understand why people get upset with sex specific organizations, sorry.

I won't respond again, because this is an endless discussion.

Again a completely one-sided, closed minded, bigoted view.  You're making points from one side and one view only and are contradicting yourself with every single point.

Seriously?  So you're essentially saying that a woman has to "clear" her intentions with a man before being ALLOWED to participate?

Please don't respond again.  You've already made yourself crystal clear.

Never heard of it...

Is this the "Eastern Star" you are talking about?

Speaking of women & golf...

Wonderful finish for U of Washington golfer today to push them to the National Championship vs Stanford.  She won 16, 17, 18 and 19 to take it, including holing out from the bunker on 19 for Birdie!  Superb!

No more over the top than your previous comments.

But they are your words not mine so maybe you should go back and read them again for yourself.
