I thought it would be interesting to get a semi-scientific feel for the preferences in swing interfaces that are available in this game. I know some probably use multiple types, especially those of you who own simulators, but please indicate which is your strongest prefernce.
Poll: What is your swing interface preference in JNPG?

I use the Real Time Swing (Controller) when I do play, but that wouldn't be my preferred swing as it's not available.

I got pulled in away from 3-click play by PGA Championship Golf 99's Tru-Swing (analog mouse) interface, and haven't really been able to get back into it since. As much as I fell in love with True-Swing from that time through Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 on the PC, if you'd have told me that 10 years later, I'd be the poster boy of thumbstick controller interfaces, I'd have laughed in your face.... but here I am today fully admitting it and loving it. ![]()
BTW, my guess for this poll's break down would be something like:
3-click mouse - 40%
3-click controller - 1%
Motion Swing - 7%
Real Time Swing mouse - 28%
Real Time Swing controller - 22%
Simulator - 2%

Neither is mine, so you're not alone, lol.

It's cool to sit back now and watch the votes come in... things have been a little slow on the interactivity front here lately, I was hoping this was going to stimulate some movement - 22 votes total already!

I bet I know the answer (it starts with a "P"), but I'm waiting to see if somebody else gets it first ![]()

MY preference would be a "Powerstroke" type swing, but I was suggesting what Daz's preference might be ![]()

RTS-C with a DualShock 4
Just won't play any other way anymore as I like to chill on the couch & play on the big screen

Can someone explain this powerstroke for me?
Like the truestroke mode in PGA Championship Golf, the powerstroke simulates a golf swing by having you left-click and move the mouse horizontally right and left (or vice versa for lefties). Unlike truestroke, you release the left mouse button at a certain point to simulate the wrist snap to determine whether you hit a straight shot, a draw, or a fade.
It's a lot of fun or I wouldn't have played it for all this time ![]()

Used to it from years of Tiger Woods games.
I did use 3 click for a while when I first got JNPG, but I prefer controls and use my TV as monitor too.
