Probably one for MJ to answer.

Just wondering if a course is designed/recreated with a practice area, if the player selects the practice option from a game menu, they have the option of playing holes on the course or just going to the practice area to hit balls?

IIRC, this was included in Links: The Challenge of Golf back in the early 90's, which came with Torrey Pines South. If you opted to practice, the game actually put you on the practice area so you could just hit some balls.

In Links 2003 now, you can select Practice on a real course mode but it lets you practice playing the course and takes yo to the tee. You can choose to practice at the stock Driving Range that comes with the game. To go to the actual practice range in a design/recreation you would have to manually move the ball to the appropriate area on the course map. I just think it would be neat for the game to have an option to go to the practice area and the game take you there, or have an option to actually play a practice round. Be nice to practice at different locations instead of on a stock practice area like Links 2003 has now.

Just with some folks wanting as much realism putting in Perfect Golf, I thought this might be a workable option.

How about a putting green too, where at certain skills levels you don't get given a green speed, you have to hit a few putts on the practice green and work out the speed for yourself?

Or perhaps you get a stimp meter reading instead?

I sure don't want to open this can of worms again but!!!!! This game should have everything that TW08 has plus many more..  TW has the practice mode which was/is essential.

The list goes on but you guy's have been thru the drill before, thing is, it still stands true...

EA Sports should have listened to us and they didn't, look what happened...

Released Courses: Real

The Golf Club @ Dove Mnt. AZ

PP are not remaking TW08. I'm sure Perfect Golf will have much of what was in TW08 and Links 2003 and JN and CPG etc. etc. and hopefully much more.

BTW, Links 2003 has a practice mode too. It's not something exclusive to TW, lol. All I was getting at was instead of just hitting practice shots on the actual course (which you can do if you wish, because Pro's play practice rounds on courses pre-tournament) but the fact if someone has gone to the trouble of included a practice area in their design, it should be made use of.

All of this, but the important thing is when you play a tournament round, the game should put you at the practice areas before you start playing the round so you can find out how well your swing is working and what the greens are playing like.
