Will this game have a full multiplayer system with different game modes? If so can you explain?I sure hope so because I might have made a fool of myself in The Golf Club forums. Will it have an in game chat? I know I asked this in a different thread but really didn't get an answer. What would be nice is if someone could explain how the multiplayer aspect of the game will work.

Thanks!

Hi, at the moment we have IP to IP multiplayer in PG and we will be adding a 'game lobby/room' type system with chat for 'Early access' but that's not actually in the alpha yet. We have lots of plans for other multiplayer features too but there is no point going into them yet as they won't be in the 'Early access' version.

Try not to think of this as an 'us' v 'them' regarding other golf games, there is plenty of room for different types of golf games and to be honest the more the merrier. We are offering something a little bit different to HB studios and there is no reason why people won't be able to enjoy both games as well as any others that come along and join the party  :)

I know which one I'll be playing. i also like that attitude, the us v them thing. It leads me to think that it's not about being No 1, not about if you play this game or that, It's about getting this one right, as good as you can get it. I'm happy with that.

I agree Mike nothing wrong with playing both! although from what I see so far I might have to make this my home. I'm the kind of person that likes to play competitive against a live person. Also having an in game chat is essential.

Just to add to what Mike said...

We plan on offering 3 game play modes initially, Stroke Play, Match Play and Skins, later on we plan to roll out a complete game method of play designer which will allow everyone to create their own game play types but this will not be in Early Access

We have tested a concept Master Server and will probably implement that for Early Access allowing you to see open games and join without the need to direct IP to IP connections which is working well today

We are planning to offer in game mic chat as well as a text chat
