I don't know any more than you Dave but chances are the home version is going to be free and probably will come with minimal objects, generic textures, and some type of limitations to its design tools. I'm guessing the professional version will come with all the bells and whistles with huge libraries of objects. If this is the case I would gladly pay for the "professional"version. If I'm completely off base then please disregard everything I've just said. lol

I'm right there with you. I purchased almost each and every P2P course that was available and it wasn't entirely because I "had" to have them all. It was just my small way of saying Thank You to all the guys that helped keep the dream alive for the last ten years. Considering the artistry that was created with a not so easy design tool being the apcd, one can only salivate at what's in our future with (CF). For that reason alone I want to see the (CF) at least in its Alpha/Beta stage released as soon as possible. That way if PP sticks to its time table of winter of 2013 we would be guaranteed a huge library of courses by the time the game itself becomes available.

@Sinewiz - when formatting text, please be aware that some folks (like me) are using white background skins - if you format your posts in all white text, then it looks invisible to us! (to read yours I had to select/highlight it with the mouse)
I'm also wondering if the Pro version has anything to do with tools specifically to aid in the PP broadcast capability. May not be anything the normal course designer would need for developing courses for the game.

If course forge is going to be the dogs b*llocks that we expect it to be then I guess the PP guys have to make sure that anyone using the software commercially should pay the appropriate fee for the privilege.
Bruce - I suspect you've hit on the key reason... There have obviously been folks making a living using existing tools like APCD for commerical golf course visualiziation work - like Mike Jones! Stands to reason that PP would want to protect their own business and IP.
Acrilix - thanks! I"ve noticed that the bright yellow text is also very difficult to read on the white skin, but the tan/orange you used above is very legible. Appreciate the consideration!

What are you guys thinking that we're going to be looking at in terms of price for Professional Edition? I'd be willing to pay upwards of $35 for CF with the features listed above in Sinewiz's post.

As a designer of real courses, this is great news. As long as the pricing reflects value for us and our clients, we'll jump in to PV as well as CF. Blurring the line between obviously CG and real flyovers is our goal... we love it when clients ask when the helicopter took those videos!!

The initial concept was to build 2 versions of course forge one which just created courses that could be played in perfect golf and another (pro) that could export all sorts of things such as video fly by hi res imagery geo referenced data etc. all the latter has now been moved into perfect vision and it is unlikely that there will be 2 versions of course forge now
Am I reading it correctly that you plan to retain Perfect Vision and the ability to render fly throughs & images as a 'service' you can provide to customers rather than as a product they can use themselves? And thus Course Forge will only effectively supply the course design community of the Perfect Golf sim?
