Anyone have any experience with creating a custom tree from scratch in the modeller and getting wind to work?

I could use some tips.

Thanks, but that's about lighting, not wind.  :)

For trees to move in Unity a wind zone must be added using the

Tree Modler. An easy way to do this is to click the Wind icon

and select the Wind Wizard which will add the zone for you

after you select your tree type and the kind of wind reaction

you wish it to add to the tree.

Sadly, that doesn't work.  Tried the wind wizard and also copy/paste the wind properties from a known good tree to the new tree.  :(  There's gotta be a setting somewhere that enables the wind in Unity I think.  Tried Wind Quality but that didn't do anything either.

Sadly, there must be something in the Global Wind settings

left unchecked. Click on a level of your tree or the leaves(not the trunk),

then scroll to the bottom of the left column and click

Global Wind Settings. The wind should be enabled

for level 1.  I have no problem building a tree from scratch

and using the wizard to add a wind zone and planting  in

Unity with applied results, just sayin'.

Just level 1?  Not level 2?

That example was just to check to see if the wind was enabled

on level1 (usually branches). Level 2 is usually twigs and then

leaves or needles. Of course global settings contain all.

Are you saving your .spm to a new folder in the modler?

That's what I do, and then just drop that into Unity Assets

or a Folder I've created in Assets and drag into scene.

I'm saving it directly into a Bushes folder in Assets in my project.  And I do a Save As with Assets every time.  Here's a link to my drop box Neal, if you wouldn't mind to look at it.  https://dl.dropboxus...136756/Bush.zip

The bush works. You must activate the wind zone in unity.

I already had it set in the video so I got an error,

but you should not get one on the first try.

I wanted to say Nice Bush, but somehow

that just doesn't sound right.

If you click on the light in your model you

can move and rotate it until most of your

model is illuminated.

You are definitely running Breezy or greater in game under Weather tab? My trees are still under Calm conditions.

Windy.  It looks real funny seeing the trees go nuts while the bushes are dead calm.  I could make a video... :)  I was able to make a stalks bush, using a trunk tree however and it shakes in the wind like it's supposed to.  It's not from scratch, but it'll do what I need for my current project.
