Can anyone object (and please do as I don't want to run into problems later) to placing water in the follow method

You have a bare terrain, untouched, drag the waterplane onto the terrain. Hit the resize button. Then drag the corners of your waterplane to the four corners of your terrain. So you have the 1 waterplane covering the entire terrain.

Select the one and only waterplane then in the inspector window,in the 'position', Y axis punch in a figure and for the purpose I used 22.5 setting all the water on your entire plot at the one level, building a series of very natural looking lakes and they look good because they are in all the low areas of the plot. This saves having to put water in every time it's needed. Then design the course around the now existing lakes. Still put other water in if needed but all other water would be higher.

Is this going to be a problem later, to have this waterplane hanging below (well most of it ) the terrain.

Don't see a problem with that if you wish, but waterplanes

take very minimal hits on FPS and adding many gives

more versatility. For a Waterworld type course one plane

may be the way to go. Just be sure to keep your terrain

on the 0 position axis and don't move it.

Thanks for your help, will probably add more water when needed and also might fill some lakes in by raising the terrain. Just gives a nice/different starting point.
