What will the sounds be like in the game?   Aside from club sounds, what are the ambient sounds like?   Are they your regular birds, wind, and background noise?

Also, will the in game animations/golfers "speak" like they do in Links 2003 and react to good shots, bad shots, pre tee shots, post shots, etc etc.?

I have always been an avid Links soundscript editor...  I've creating and editing soundscripts very enjoyable and lots of fun!

No player voices or commentary atm, just nature and shots. Tbd if this will evolve in a full soundtrack with time.

I'm not a fan of commentary in golf games. Becomes very repetitive and annoying. I just like to play with the sound of the birds and the occasional expletive.

Well, I shure hope the guys from PG are going to work on this one! No soundscripts? Maybe in the testing phase, but when everything has been said and done, I can't believe this option will be left aside? Indeed, I can fully appreciate the 'pure' game, without any babbling and joking on the background. That's just fine. I do that too from time to time, but there should be more then that in a complete package, like PG is hoping to be.

In Links (and we do have to compare PG to Links, because for anybody who knows, Links is/was the best thing out there) this truly is a great option. Especially the custom soundscripts which have been made along the years, like the TKS and UK Tribute scripts, these are really stellar stuff. The amount of comments is amazing. Anyway, in my book, background noises add to the fun, depending on your mood etc. There should be an option in the future for this. Not doing so would be a step back. :(

Good lord just please please... If there is an annoying menu looping track can you please give us the option of turning it off on it's own.  :o

Please don't waste any time on commentary on my account - Heck make it a paid add-on.

It is *literally* the first thing I turn off on every single golf game I've ever used.

Just curious. What Soundscripts did/do you create for Links?  Just for your own enjoyment or have you made them universally available?

Have to chime in as I am also not one for the commentary files.

They are OK for 5 minutes until you start hearing the same comment starting to get repeated a little too often. I never use them any more, just settle for playing Links 2003 with the ambient course sounds and the sound of club striking ball.

Yes it would be a nice option for those who like sound file commentary, but for me not a major priority.

I'm another who soon turned off the commentary sounds in Links and in TGC.  They do wear thin rather quickly.  If PG were to add commentary I would think it may be much further down a long road.

'That's in the deep stuff'

I'd rather we create tools to allow the community to create their own sound files. I'm pretty sure that anything we came up with would get boring very quickly!

Haha...to the first part of your quote!!

Commentary does get boring when you hear the same things over and over....maybe if I wasn't in the deep stuff all the time it wouldn't be so boring...LOL

I do like your idea of being able to create your own sound files.

I recreated the Links99 soundscript to be used for Links 2003.   This SS is featured on HeyMartin years ago.   I have also created a few sound scripts for personal use and for friends and family.   I did post them on LC, but it didn't seem that there was much interest, so I did not post the rest of them.

Too bad.. I love the Links soundscripts... I find them quite enjoyable rather than listening to just what is going on around me, birds, occasional plane fly by, etc.

If you go to the Steam community website area for Perfect Golf ... and click on the Videos tab at the top you will see the Stud Golfer hitting some shots or a shot but anyway you will hear background ambient sounds

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

I agree. I collect and save any Soundscripts I can get my hands on.  If you ever want to pass them on you know where you can find a willing recipient.  LOL

Oh come on guys how can you have a golf game without Feherity and McCord? "Well I thought that one was going to get to the hole and fall in drunk" :)

a bit  serious though every now and then they did help out with reading putts in expert mode that had no grids. You know things like "this one has a little break maybe on the left edge" they were though known to lie too though.

A similar function to what Links has now would be just fine with me.

I've got a custom script I've been using for 10 years that I never get tired of.... it's a fairly large mish-mash of Caddyshack, other movies, some Simpsons, some old CBS and NBC telecasts with Ken Venturi and Vin Scully, some Peter Alliss, and other random things. The thing's actually become almost too large to edit anymore.

Personally, I think adding sound scripts would be a great addition. I enjoy them in Links 2003.

I dare say, after more than 10yrs since the links Sound Scripts, something far better could be achieved. Even if only to replicate what was done in the past, it would likely be far better... connection speeds have increased too, allowing the sending of sounds easier. I believe they were .WAV files back then too...!

I play golf on pc like I would out on the course in real life.

I don't have commentators passing comments on my shots so don't miss it on the PC.

When I play driving games I don't yearn for lap by lap commentary from Brundle and Croft and I'm same with my golf.

I still sit at my screen and shout at my ball like I do in real life, so that works for me.
