Hello fellow Golfers and Designers,

Could anyone please guide me on how to change Unity's Interface Font, It doesn't look as crisp as the ones in Mike's tutorials and I would like to make the font bigger or change type of font used if possible.

I'm referring to text in Hierarchy / Project / Inspector Windows and Upper tabs, not the drop down menus.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you..

It might have something to do with DPI scaling to your monitor/TV.  I'm suggesting one of two things to try:

  1. **NOTE:  This will change the size of almost everything on your computer.  It can be easily undone by reversing the change that you make.  Changing the DPI scaling setting in Windows to 100% to see if it makes any difference.  To do so in Windows 10:
    • Start
    • Settings
    • Display
    • Scale and Layout
    • Change to 100% (or try 125% if it's already at 100%)
  2. Turn off DPI scaling only in Unity.  To do so in Windows 10:
    • Right-click the Unity shortcut
    • Choose Properties...
    • Select the Compatibility tab
    • Depending on your version of Windows 10, either:
      • Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" (v1607 / Anniversary edition of Win 10 or older)
      • Check "Override high DPI scanning behavior. Scaling performed by" (v1703 / Creator's Build of Win 10)
        • Select "System"

There are other options you can select for Option 2, as well as selecting the separate option to "Disable fullscreen optimizations", but I just discovered these options being different in the Creator's update and have not tried them.

Thanks for the suggestion Armand but it didn't change Unity's Font Scale, it only changed the font size for the drop down (File, Edit, etc..) menus.

DPI was on 100%  - I tried 125% and logged off and back on in Windows.

I tried it without and then with the "Disable display scaling on high DPI" setting, in Unity shortcut Properties as well.

For your Info, I'm running Windows 7, Ultimate 64bit edition, using a 24 inch Asus Monitor (as per spec's in my signature).

My screen resolution is also the native 1920x1080

Unity is also 5.2.3 version - 64bit

Thank you anyway, was worth a shot.  If anyone knows how to change Font within the program, please reply.

If there's a way, I couldn't find one with a google search.

After Googling the topic, apparently it can't be changed.  There's a feedback suggestion on Unity's site and it's currently Under Review with 3500+ votes for change.

Even if they introduced an option in Edit / Preferences, I doubt we could change it for 5.2.3

Guess we just have to put up with it.

Was worth a try, SAS.

;)  There's always the magnifying glass in Windows  (Win++, that is, hold the windows key and press +) ;)
